Does chanting help? I think it helps only till the time you are chanting as you focus is in chanting. Do meditation and come out of birth and death cycle by lord buddhas learning it’s focus is completely on self it’s not related to any religion it is based on Karma. If you are doing good deeds you certainly won’t take a rebirth in Kalyug. But if your deeds and bad and even if you do any no of chantings it is not going to help.

Devotees do not want birth in any Yuga. Because birth death old age and disease are the 4 problems that every conditioned soul has to suffer - as stated by Krishna in Bhagavad Gita.
Devotees want to go home back to Godhead, escape this material universe and go back to Goloka, which is everyone's original residence.
And as far as your point regarding chanting is concerned, if you chant without knowledge and faith, you are doing simple sound meditation, and will feel good only during that time.
But one who chants with knowledge and faith, he will experience inner peace, satisfaction and bliss throughout the day. Thats just the tip of the iceberg, ultimate aim is not to be in peace/satisfaction but to engage in the loving devotional service of God.

That's why I started learning* Vedas and I made my lifestyle according to it. I joined a new job which allowed me this lifestyle. I am now* getting less money but now I am satisfied even without my early high wages job.

there are archaeological evidences of Mahabharat , and many historians and genetic studies prove the aryan invasion wrong.
and if we were not advanced, how did we know the number of planets in solar system (astrology) before a westerner made a telescope??

so dates are still controversial in hindu texts, even the YUGA dates are not confirmed because people use different methods to calculate them and have different interpretation, hence the most accepted date of Mahabharat is around 3000BC.
