Thanks for the comments! The ranking in the video is about economic freedom, not personal or political freedom. It's based on a report from the Heritage Foundation. While we may not agree with everything, it's a discussion point on economic policies. Let's keep the conversation going with an understanding that freedom has various dimensions.
Off topic, but - any idea why Hong Kong is out of the list? And on the subject of HK, any details about the return of investor visa - you may have mentioned something about that in one of recent videos.
Ireland, really? Ireland is conquered completely by the WEF. Ireland is killing its cattle. Ireland is trying to get the most draconian anti-speech law in the West. Ireland is going against its own economic self interest now for WEF dreams. Stay away from Ireland.
'Economic' freedom...not necessarily social freedom. Economic freedom as in less bureaucracy to open a business and conduct business...no onerous regulations...welcoming of foreign investment with little to no hassle compared to other countries....and no onerous taxation etc
My families from Ireland, I have a summer home there and citizenship. If the last 2 weeks have taught us anything… it’s that Ireland is one of the least free countries in the world.

There is a big difference between economic freedom which is what Andrew is talking about, and sociatal freedom. Ireland is extremely free from an economic point of view.
Totally agree. NZ and Australia are the crash test dummies for WEF and the UN Lizards. Ireland is having so much turmoil with the illegal invasion that never integrates and happy to be a parasite that eventually destroys the host.
How DARE you question big brother during a very serious scamdemic. Even tho I didn't see a single dead body in the last FIVE YEARS... I was thinking same. In fact there is NO country I would feel was safe to move to. If you really want to survive to live in an apocalyptic future of madness then your best bet is probably to homestead bunker in some remote wilderness and bribe the county clerk to erase where that homestead is (I'm remembering Ruby Ridge here.) You'll then need some decades worth of food, water, air, clothing, medical supplies, forms of entertainment.. and lots of weapons.
@@veganconservative1109I agree. But I would add that you need a good, strong community of like-minded people who are on the same page and have various skills and experiences in different areas. Unfortunately, even those who are aware of what is going on have either already complied with the corrupt government or are living in some fantasy world and are completely irrational in their decisions....some are just blindly trusting some "gurus" from TH-cam. At least in my circle. So, in SHTF scenario, I won't go with any of them. :(
Just got back from Singapore. Beautiful place but they have traded their freedom for security. $200,000USD income taxed at 22% plus highest cost of living anywhere in the world. Your Bio-metrics are recorded at the airport (iris, fingerprints, facial recognition personal details). The city is covered in surveillance cameras and even small robots with cameras and sensors. I crossed a robot when I first arrived, (I was having a smoke in a ally-way behind a bar) illegal.... fines etc follow when its time to leave. The cost of safety is too high for me. The communists in Hanoi seem to have much more freedom. Australia and New Zealand are going down the same path. I never thought I would see the people of Australian & New Zealand Kow Tow to their government over Covid and other matters. Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Canada better wake up quick or our freedoms will be lost in the false claims of safety, inclusion & climate change.

Nothing wrong with policing if it is done to keep crimes down and safety levels up. Most countries would prefer it to anarchy states where violence and crimes rule the day.
Can you go into more detail? In what way does the government keep tabs on it's citizens there? Don't you have freedom of speech? Can you not escape day to day surveillance by living more rurally in your smaller more mountain side towns? Isn't banking privacy still very much protected for Swiss citizens?
There is no way this list is correct, New Zealand has less freedoms than Australia thanks to the WEF future leaders program and Adern's insane policies (her replacement has not been any better), and Ireland falling into civil unrest. Singapore might be free, but its insanely expensive as well.

I am from New Zealand and unfortunately our housing market is completely fried after being open to everyone for decades. People are living in wooden shacks and cars and garages. Too many rich foreigners bought a lot of land. Even Shania Twain bought citizenship. Plus a huge amount of money funneled out of China into the NZ property market. There are still ways around the foreign owner ban and as usual the government is completely unable to monitor what's actually going on so there's still a lot of foreign money going into property. NZ is a playground for the rich but if you're average or poor it's just as bad as anywhere else but with some good scenery

Years ago, I owned an account at UBS while conducting business in Switzerland, all perfectly legal. One day I received a letter from UBS any person residing in America, regardless of citizenship, even Swiss, would have their accounts closed. Why? Constant and never-ending intrusion and interference of the US government into the Swiss banking system. Thank you Obama!
If you're American living in Switzerland you can open accounts at any of the major banks. Prior to a few years ago it was only possible at Post or one of the cantonal banks, since the govt leaned on them to do it, lest the country be full of unbanked Americans. If you move out, or are non-US and move to the US, they'll close it. Happened to several friends of mine.
I wouldn't even say economic freedom is that great. Ireland is heavily regulated, Switzerland lost it's banking privacy, New Zealand has made it hard to start a small business for at least the past 15 years and backs every single ridicules IP law the US wants them too. It depends on your individual circumstances. This list AH uses is very much aimed at those who have “ above average incomes” and this can be altered by: do you work where you are moving to, is your work online, do you Rent or own a property, what Taxation will you be required to pay, will you have access to local services like Free transport if you are retired, free basic health care, …..etc. It may be a good idea to pay a little Tax where you move to if you will get some of these freebies thrown in however, if you have an income as a retired person of about $1,000 per week then you may need to look at somewhere that is not wanting to Tax you every time you buy a cup of Coffee or that requires you to send in all your details each year. It seems that Mexico is a great place for North Americans to retire as the weather is good, property and living costs are much cheaper than that available in SF or La …….. I still think that as a retiree with an average income, you can do very well in Argentina as their Gov has “ messed up !” ( surprised anyone !) , they will perhaps be soon adopting the $US as their new currency ( the Yuan could have been a better choice if they join BRICS ) however, the mess that Nation is in now means that the Currency of Ghana or Egypt would be better than the A peso for reasons of inflation and the entire World does not want to sell goods to Argentina using their A peso as it loses value by the day. As long as you have an income from outside that nation, you will be left alone as they do not want to put off foreign People who can easily move next door to Uruguay , Paraguay or Brazil ( Mercosur trade Bloc ) , as if you do have an Argentine Citizenship that is something you can do as they allow the Citizens of each State near free movement. The index ranks El Salvador 114th, with reasoning including "Bukele has also continued to implement the controversial adoption of Bitcoin as one of the country’s official currencies." While El Salvador still has a long road ahead in terms of achieving economic freedom, the notion that its Bitcoin adoption hurts its ranking is pretty ridiculous. If every Salvadoran adopted Bitcoin today, El Salvador would be the most economically free country in history tomorrow.

The only problem with this ranking is that is not weighted - it means that government spending and taxes are only a small part of overall score while they should be the most important metrics. If this ranking was weighted properly, then for example Malaysia would be much higher, Luxemburg lower and Taiwan would be above Switzerland.

Great video Andrew. A few weeks ago you published a video on moving to Mexico for more freedom. What exactly are the differences between economic freedom and personal freedom? Thank you.
Economic freedom basically translates to "tax havens", places where you can pay little to no taxes on investment income or foreign income. Personal freedom is normal stuff like civil rights, due process rights, freedom of speech, religion, association, etc. The two are not necessarily directly correlated. Most western countries have high personal freedom, but less economic freedom because they usually have higher taxes, more regulations, etc. Countries with high economic freedom may actually be authoritarian, but market themselves as tax havens for the wealthy, prime example is Singapore, it's a massive tax haven for the rich, but is a strict authoritarian government as well.
And in terms of living elsewhere, depending on where one is resident, they will need to declare their international investments. Like the uk requires. To even pay capital gains on land given to you from a relative, if one sells it whilst being a UK resident.
Switzerland is hosting all the evil-driven elitists working real hard to kill most of us and control the lives of who is left alive: WEF, WHO, BIG PHARMA, UN, and the demons list sadly goes on. If a citizenery doesn't have protections from government similar to the US Bill of Rights, especially 1A and 2A, it is not free. A Bill of Rights is a necessary but not necessarily a sufficient vehicle for personal freedom. Even with a Bill of Rights, governments will always seek to infringe on personal freedoms as they always seek to increase their power (Executive Orders, excessive taxation, excessive regulation, bank reporting requirements, Pa.triot Act, forced medical procedures, so called hate speech laws which muzzle Freedom of Speech etc).

THIS! Everyone wants to run away. I keep thinking of Tolkien's fictional world where evil kept encroaching until all the Elves had left was one 'safe' city surrounded by tall mountains and only one 'secret passage' out.. and then that city was taken from within. Allowing the enemy more and more ground is not a wise move.
I agree with NZ law prohibitting non citizens from buying homes as long as that includes foreign corporations. Be even better if they outlawed any corporations from buying homes.
Ireland and Singapore? Absolutely not. Freedom of Speech is the most important freedom and neither promotes that and in fact legislate against speech that the political class does not like.

This ranking ain't for shit! So-called Economic Freedom means NOTHING without political freedom. That is, unless you have literal F-U money, which most of us don't.
Free for capital--not people, necessarily. No matter how much money one has or doesn't have, personal freedom is paramount. Heritage Foundation is only interest in maximizing capital.
Singapore literally executes people for possession of even a tiny bit of marijuana. I have heard of people at the airport smuggling pot in other people's luggage into Singapore, it being found, and then the owner of the luggage getting sentenced to DEATH. Not very free in my opinion! Singapore would be the LAST country I'd want to live in! I've heard bad stories about Ireland too - things taking forever to get done and then the new immigrants being told to "get used to the Irish way of doing things," which apparently means inefficiency and arbitrary government runaround. Switzerland has always had a great reputation for freedom. I am not sure about Taiwan.
You've heard "stories". In other words you've heard bullshit. No, Singapore does not execute people for possession of a tiny bit of marijuana. Singapore only applies the death penalty for trafficking of drugs which means someone needs to be caught with a large quantity of drugs in order to be considered trafficking. If you're American living in Switzerland you can open accounts at any of the major banks.

@@leezap Hence why I said you need freedoms other then financial as well. A place that claims financial freedom but oppresses its people in nasty ways is not a safe place for your money or you.
I've been watching this channel for a couple of years now, and each year, it becomes more apparent that you can live your life chasing "freedom" or just find freedom wherever you are. So as long as you can make money, have a roof over your head, and have the right to fight to make it better where you are, that may be the better route. Freedom often is a state of mind.
Correct 💯
Thank you for that information. Live Free .
You're welcome.
I don’t know ANYONE who believes the UK is a flag waving free country.
Ireland? yeah right
No AIPAC so yeah. Really is the best being represented by the elected people and not some foreign lobby.
Most European countries sold out to the WEF and WHO... alongside most countries worldwide. I'm not sure what you mean by free when digital enforcement and over-regulation are now global.
@johnhammink2716 I believe that the new currency is our gifts. The only way out of this mess is by creating communities and supporting one another.
They cannot tax or control what we barter.
Yes, 'momentum' is very important!
Calling New Zealand free as No 5 on this list shows me they have a very different definition of 'free' than I do
Economic freedom, not personal or overall freedom. Two very different things, the list is mostly for investors and entrepreneurs with lots of cash to invest. Is not for places where you should live as explained in the video.
Free to do as they told you
Singapore treat foreigners so well that the local detest our own gov, they exchange our freedom and happiness to make foriengers happy. Up to a point where local salary are depressed to less than 30K USD a year for engineers, but the housing prices are in 2-3 million USD for some studios apartment and a small japanese car cost 150K USD for 10 years usage. Not to mentioned most expensive gas cost, expensive leisure spot and etc.
I am Singaporean and this is why i am considering moving out of this goddamn forsaken place that controlled, mistreat and squeeze its own people. Oh btw we need serve 2+10 years of total military service. This is the treatment we get for protecting our country.
Im reading it and i picture you all as worker ants. Sorry for you. You need to leave this prison and live YOUR life amd not being a unit
@ZzXZ636just try to move to Singapore, then you know that locals do not understand the difficulties foreigners face. Foreign workers can only afford to stay in cramped living quarters. Most can nit afford to bring their families. Once they loose their job they have to leave the country. Wonder what he means with free. Free if you have enough capital, like everywhere.
Wait, there is forced military ‘selective service’ to be a citizen in Singapore? Ah hell nah 😫
I find it interesting that freedom is only being praised from an economic point of view. Without personal freedom, economic freedom doesn't much matter. Ireland is a perfect example of a nation's Government moving in the wrong direction in regards to personal freedom. After the recent riots the Irish Government are now threating to enact so called hate speech laws that would potentially be the most draconian in the entire world in defense of murderous illegal migrants that shouldn't be in their country to begin with!!! At least in America by God we still have Freedom of Speech and the right to bear arms under the first and second amendments thank God!! Our world is quickly slipping into tyrannical rule by psychotic control freaks and unless we as people don't reverse the current course we are on, then eventually it won't matter how much money you have because their might not be any place left to run too in this world!!! Then what would you do!!??
You haven’t read between the lines and mustn’t know that you have personal freedom when you have economic freedom. That’s how the rules of this planet work and you learn that when you are wealthy. Social politics and application of laws work differently when you can write checks.
Yep, definitely in no way libertarian, there government has gone off the deep end.
Kidding? There is zero free speech in America. Try telling the truth and you will be cancelled and jobless. Everything is on the verge of collapse there g go or reasons you can’t mention on youtoob
@@whatdoyouthinktho True if the government is totally corrupted and not a nation of laws (but of man). A global nomenklatura exists as a direct result of this corruption.
The entirety of the UK is turning into North Korea.
I think, generally it is not a good idea to search for an exile in European Union which will be in future on the verge of insolvency and converting into a over regulated and fully controlled socialistic dictatorship. To invest in EU is not a good idea.
Do you have trends on countries who mandate the Jab or allow citizens to decide
Que buena información, muchas gracias
Taking a look at the HF page now - New Zeland 5, Australia 13, Canada 16, waaay over countries that provided relative personal freedom over past 3 years. That makes me think this index makes little to no sense if one considers "freedom" per se
He's talking about economic freedom.
@@TheEmperor000 Its just a lot of red tape. It actually used to be pretty easy to open business in China, but not so much anymore. They were economically very libertarian, but that is long gone.
PS: If you could inspire your most affluent clients to create all new nations with no EU membership, no WHO membership, no WEF membership and no NATO membership, then you would be a hero to those who value their freedom, Mark! Maybe create a new nation at sea with an artificial island to begin with. Floating communities of boats etc. The economy should be about connecting the dots for the best ways to keep things rolling...
Floating golf courses and Formula 1 circuits, please!! Plus wall-to-wall gorgeous babes, of course.😁
There was an Ann ryand Foundation that promised just that in late 90s I believe. They said they would lease some land from a third word country and create a new Hong Kong. did not amount ot anything obviously..
@@codechartreuse "nation" is just a word, don't get your panties in a knot, you could exchange it for the word "community" or "group". There's a difference between a group of people that choose to be together vs a group of people that is forced by an arbitrary line.
@@codechartreuse You sound like a slow thinking globalist. Do you not see how extremely everything is rigged, and that we in reality have zero independent nations? We are lied to big time, and the bankster cartels run the world as one big holding company! I used the word nation, but I did not define the word for you as plus or negative or whatever.
That would require a piece of land that is not already part of an existing country, have fun with that haha.
Singapore? You mean the dictatorship? Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the city-state (my favourite place in the world, after living there for an extended period), but it is precisely its quasi-dictatorial government that makes it so appealing.
Take the list with a grain of salt, do your own research! what they value may not be the same as what yours
Argentina looks awesome! ~ (only been to Chile in SA) love the clear wisdom of your dad, go to where they appreciate you!
Thanks!
I can't sell bubble gum in the world's most free economy?
Who fucking cares
The only problem with this ranking is that is not weighted - it means that government spending and taxes are only a small part of overall score while they should be the most important metrics. If this ranking was weighted properly, then for example Malaysia would be much higher, Luxemburg lower and Taiwan would be above Switzerland.
You wouldn't be able to properly place Switzerland then as taxation is all over the place on as it's decided by the cantons for the most significant part. There's 26 of those and they are all over the place.
Thank you for your information!
Woke movement
Not sure for Switzerland!
Canton Zug has low taxes.
What's so bad about Switzerland? I'm always hearing goof things about it.
I love this channel!
Same 😊 💯
Thank you! 😊
I believe Singapore has some of the harshest drug laws in the world.
What matters is:
It’s SAFE, walking the streets at midnight. ✅
It’s clean as,✅
Great clean food.✅
Enforces Rule of law!✅
Great video, however there are other indexes besides the heritage foundation. The Frazier institute and the Cato institute are good ones to look at as well but there is no substitute for boots on the ground which i am glad your team does. Great information.
Great video Andrew. A few weeks ago you published a video on moving to Mexico for more freedom. What exactly are the differences between economic freedom and personal freedom? Thank you.
He's often summarizing articles, it doesn't mean he thinks those are really the only four countries.
This is how sad the world has become. This is the saddest video you've ever posted.
Why wasn't St Kitts listed at all?!!!
Switzerland is the only free country mentioned on top of the list. But it's also super expensive.
Switzerland is hosting all the evil-driven elitists working real hard to kill most of us and control the lives of who is left alive: WEF, WHO, BIG PHARMA, UN, and the demons list sadly goes on. It is definitely not a good place, though for some people, it seems "When you cannot beat them, join them".
How anyone could think that the UK is number 1 ? Me and my wife are both disabled wheelchair-bound. We live in East London Newham.
We don't have any medical or social care or even a half incontinence pant.
But we get letters in nudging us to take Covid vaccines.
In what they are going to help to us?
I think you have demonstrated the belief that used to be in the Western World and that the politicians were about helping its citizens. Not any more! That has died here Downunder, too, as it is obvious in Ole Blighty!
.
Great idea, I now just have to make 15 million dollars and my plan is complete...
Make 50-100k and go live there then make your first million and buy residence.
If you’re watching this from Gary, Indiana. You have my condolences!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It would be interesting to see what happens as some of the migrants in Chicago that walked through the border end up in Gary, IN.
@danielgouge4639 they have and you'll see more of it
If a citizenery doesn't have protections from government similar to the US Bill of Rights, especially 1A and 2A, it is not free.
Argentina is an interesting play - was there recently and pleasantly surprised on the quality of life.
I was thinking Argentina would be a perfect place to get started and making a difference in a community where people are looking for change and hope, minus the Obama.
I did not have Gary Indiana on my bingo sheet for this episode. Lol
I live and work in Singapore, and I have a hard time believing it’s “free!” Yes it’s safe. Yes, it’s clean. Yes it’s got low taxes! That said you can’t even chew gum without incurring a fine .
Singapore? It's everything but freedom...I heard 99% are jabbed.
Great video.
I would say two baseline criteria for freedom: 1) Does not require a passport to enter or a visa to stay. 2) No Residential Property Tax.
I used to believe América was free until I learned the truth
We should probably make efforts to increase economic freedoms in our own countries.
Ireland is far from free right now
What happened? I can't find
I agree with NZ law prohibitting non citizens from buying homes as long as that includes foreign corporations. Be even better if they outlawed any corporations from buying homes.
I get this list is about "economic" freedom but how can anyone consider Ireland or New Zealand high on any list of 'freedoms' ?
Ireland and Singapore? Absolutely not. Freedom of Speech is the most important freedom and neither promotes that and in fact legislate against speech that the political class does not like.
Does the list take into account of the respect of contract law . That is very important, to be abld to go into a court be you a citizen or not and sue for pain and suffering and honoring contract agreements. Please answer Andrew
This ranking ain't for shit! So-called Economic Freedom means NOTHING without political freedom. That is, unless you have literal F-U money, which most of us don't.
Wealth is key. Especially for Americans. Unless you are independently wealthy it's nearly impossible to move abroad.
@@hattorihanzo2275Agreed, and our governments keep working harder to ‘tax us into oblivion’ while ‘printing money’ themselves out of thin air. 😤
From the latest reports it doesn't seem that Ireland is very free. I'm not so sure about that choice.
Always great content. Thank you 🙏
‘You have my condolences, firstly’ made me laugh so hard 😂 Brilliant video as always, thanks for all your work Andrew and the Nomad Capitalist team 🙏
Freakin hilarious 😂
Haha, really funny, huh?
Norway has exit tax for residents who have to pay taxes even for their unsold investments on their unrealized profits when they leave the country
Free for capital--not people, necessarily. No matter how much money one has or doesn't have, personal freedom is paramount. Heritage Foundation is only interest in maximizing capital.
Things have changed in Ireland over the last few weeks unfortunately
Your videos are the best education. My best awakenings have been rude awakenings.
We thought people like you were in favor of assimilation? Ireland's immigration bureau is a jewel compared to other English speaking countries.
Having a small amount of marijuana for personal use will get someone into a lot of trouble, (jail, fine and possibly canned) but they won't get the death penalty.
