Instead of worrying about the because you’re black get in the kitchen stuff, this actress was the first representation as an equal of superiors and a superhero in her own right, quite groundbreaking for British tv in the mid 70s
The props department could have done with a few more quid, plastic torches as stunguns and dog bowls as radio transmitters!..im old enough to have watched this 1st time around but its still better than the crap on tv now!
I am old enough to have watched this as a child, they were different and simpler times then. We had free speech then and questions of colour and gender were being asked all the time, not always in a derogatory way. It is a mistake to project your cultural values and beliefs on to them, if you had been young then you would adhere to the culture of their time too.
In this they are just factual about skin colour, not judgemental. There is no racism here. The problem is when people start making judgements about other people on the basis of their skin colour, whatever that colour might be. Black, Asian and Middle-Eastern people are as racist as white people.
Tyso: No, I heard something. Liz: Even though you have successfully displayed your talent for hearing and seeing things the rest of us miss, I must vehemently deny that you actually heard something. Tyso: Oh, well, that makes- Vesh: Booya! We got you!
I like the tomorrow people and all but - WOW what a doozy of a line, you can't go cause you're black! Um....they could'nt think of another reason for her not to go...@_@
I thought it was a perfectly good reason, they've never seen a black person on this planet. What was weird was the attackers at the end not being a bit more surprised at her being black.
Keith Chegwin is one of Britain's greatest ever actors, so underrated.
And they let him have a crossbow....

Tyso: Elizabeth is in the cave cooking.
John: Good, get her to do the laundry when she's finished.
Such an innocent time. If this was viewed now everyone would be power offended

@8:41...mysterious microphone is the air.... lol
I WANT TO WATCH THIS SERIE IN SPANISH OR SUBTITLES IN SPANISH
Well, at least no one mentioned the N word.
Elisabeth had better watch out, the Vesh might start experiencing their own 'persecution mania' against her kind lol
The whole conversation about Liz being black just wouldn't happen this day and age. Suddenly mentioning skin color is controversial.
Nathanielle Crawford I think context is important, the reason was laughable.
There is nothing racist here.
I think you’re wrong. In my circle, matter-of-fact conversations about skin tone are no different from discussions about eye colour or hair colour.
So the only girl has to stay behind because she's Black. #ouch
You have completely missed the point.
0:09 “he means you can’t go because your black”
Well you could have phrased that better Stephen.
