  • In the HOKA ONE ONE Top Trails Series, RunnerSpace and HOKA introduce some of the most interesting places our Humans of HOKA run in the U.S. This stop is in Chicago, Illinois. HOKA Field Service Representative Sam Welch and HOKA Flyer Saxon Harrar show us some of their favorite run routes in and out of the city. They meet up with hosts Matt and Ian to grab coffee, talk Chicago hangouts and the city’s history. Watch as Sam and Saxon speak on the Ten Junk Miles podcast hosted by ultrarunner Scott Kummer and take us through a group run at Fleet Feet Lakeview.

These guys are adorable but i learned precisely nothing about top trails in Chicago. I think they mentioned Bullfrog Lake early on but then it was just coffee, Fleet Feet and slow-mo shots of Hoka shoes (Speedgoats, Cliftons) for 19mins. @hoka 3/10 could do better. PS love your shoes. Thanks.

Honestly there isn't much beyond the 606 and the lake front trail in terms of actual trail within the city of Chicago, both of which are amazing, not down playing them at all. Des Plaines River trail is a combo paved/hard pack that stretches just west of Logan Square/Buck town ~50 mi north to the Wisconsin border. Surprised they didn't mention it, the DPR trails are closer than Palos/Bull Frog Lake as well.
