      I'm seeking for the touch pcb board (the one you removed and reinstalled on Boe screen) as it was broken with original screen. Any idea where I could find this?

    Do you find it easier to not unplug battery and do these repairs due to there being an issue with charging and battery after repair??

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually power off the device then replace the screen without the need of unplugging the battery (I do this carefully). I do this with all surface tablet devices and haven’t had any issues.

      @@TheFixTech surface screen repairs are notorious for not charging/failed charging when replacing screws while battery is plugged in.

    Definitely test it before you glue it together.

    Thanks a lot for the video! After replacement everything works except for the WiFi. Is it common to have WiFi problem after screen replacement? Should I replace WiFi Antenna if so?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If Wi-Fi module works but cannot find a strong signal then the antenna was damaged and needs to be replaced.

      @@TheFixTech thanks for the info! Unfortunately, the WiFi device is just missing for me. I added a driver manually but it didn’t work :(. Bought a USB WiFi instead. Thanks!

    How has the b7000 glue hold up?? Better than the black tape? Also we’re you able to save the mesh from the speaker when you removed the broken screen?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The b7000 (e6000) holds up really good, no issues at all. To preserve the speaker mesh, use low heat in that area, and be careful with the pry tool.

    I may have pulled up part of the wifi antenna on the top right, I cannot even tell how it works, looks like a black sticker. Is that replaceable? TY

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is a think flat flex cable style antenna. It is connected to the board via a snap wire. If the antenna is still intact chances are it will work fine. If it is torn or ripped off completely you will need to replace. You can test the Wi-Fi connection before the new screen is glued down. Connect the screen and power on the device.

    Hello, thanks for you video, it helps a lot. But I have encountered an issue that is the display is fine but the touch screen can only sense 95% of the screen, the 5% in the right hand side(vertically) cannot sense my touching or pen. Is it likely an installation problem or the screen problem? Thank you

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is either case by damage to the flex cable of the screen or screen itself is defective. Return screen for refund or replacement.

    awesome video very clean work, question, part of my touch screen is unresponsive originally it was two small columns one on the left and one on the right the size of a finger. i redid the install and now i only have the one piece on the right unresponsive. i definitely fixed the left side somehow. i was wondering if you knew which of the ribbon connections it most likely is. thanks in advance, you are a legend

    • @TheFixTech

      This is a common problem, check the left side the the device (toward bottom), if the glass is not sitting flush with the frame and it is raised slightly from the rest, then the screen is squishing the cable between the glass and frame. Otherwise it would be a defective replacement screen

    What type of adhesive do I use when I reassemble this and where can I get it also where can I get the plastic tools I will check your website. I have never disassembled a tablet but I just bought 10 surplus Surface Go 2 tablets model 1927. These were used in a ClearMe Corporation kiosk nine out of the 10 units had a UEFI BIOS password lock. And I was told that the only way I can clear it is to remove the BIOS chip soldered to the motherboard and replace it. I'm not sure if I'm going to do that or not since I've never tried it but the BIOS chip is sold on eBay for about $24. I did list one of the Surface Go 2 for $125, if I end up selling them at that price I may not worry about the BIOS replacement. Since these are selling in good working condition for about $250 to $300. It may not be worth the time and effort it takes to replace the BIOS.

    BEWARE: The WLAN antennae is very easy to pry up on accident towards the top right side of tablet when cleaning off the adhesive, purchased this screen replacement and now it doesn't turn on with battery only with charger? What did I do wrong?

    • @hdezedgar18
      @hdezedgar18 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you unplug battery connector when doing the repair?

    • @MIKESALLSURE
      @MIKESALLSURE ปีที่แล้ว

      @Edgar Hernandez Update: I purchased and replaced the battery and it works fine now. I think I was told it had charging issues anyways.
      However now there is a whole section on the far right side for the new touchscreen that is dead. I'm sure I removed the new display too many times messing with the battery, and I damaged the unserviceable exposed digitizer ribbon cable on side of display. This is the cable that leads to the port or snap on connector with metal protective clip on covers for the removeable cable. The port thats fixed and stuck to back of display with adhesive has digi cable that folds over permanently sandwiched between the layers of the led and digitizer. Don't know why this cable is exposed but I can see a small fracture on it now from touching it too much. I have another tablet with the same issues, bad battery, cracked screen I want to fix as well. I'll get the new battery from a battery website and screen from Amazon again too. Lesson learned.
