I would love to, but I'm actually still a novice on these dances and on the rare occasions when the family gets together for a celebration worth dancing for, I just enjoy watching, and seeing the old folks dance..
Now i can understand how hard it was, i had to do a fashion show thing showing the philippines clothing and i had to do the Ifugao province and I remember how long it took to get dressed and do my hair with the beads and all... but it was worth it...

Actually I would not recognize an Igorot from am Ifugao or a Kalinka from a Bontok, but in fact, I don't care. I saw a video of a nice dance, performed by people who seem to enjoy what they are doing. Tnx for posting and actually caring enough to do these dances

i am an Ifugao so i am an Igorot....we Igorots care to comment and inform non Igorots that our dances were portrayed the wrong way...these people who danced our dances are like you who dont care whether it is right or wrong.

I haven't seen that kind of dance before in my life ! I don't know where you people got that from. I was born in Manila and lived in BF Homes Paranaque. In thirty two years I've been living here in Vancouver BC Canada and I made several research. That includes the Native dance of the Red Indians here in North America and towards the Native dance of the Maori Tribe of New Zealand. But that. I don't know where you got that from.

    -.-'''
again... this is NOT MY perspective on this video....
Ok? This was my mother's POV...
I think it's wonderful that there are people putting on shows like this, cause where I live, I don't see much of that.

Katherinesilen had every right to comment and so do you. Whether the opinion is valid or not is the concern. I think the dance is also inaccurate and if you wish to represent ANY ethnic community, it to first of all properly represent. Granted, costumes and money will be an issue there is no excuse for poor presentation, especially when it's to Fil-Ams who need education the most.

i know people can be angry at performances because there are mistakes...but things such as costumes might have explanations. what if people couldn't afford the correct costumes? putting up a show costs money and sometimes people have to sacrifice something if there isn't enough money

I would like to comment about this presentation. I am from Banaue Ifugao and would like to tell you that the beating was wrong and the dance was also wrong! It is better if you didn't mention a particular place

guys how would you feel if your culture is being portrayed the wrong way? let's say i will portray the bontoc dance but instead i do the hip hop, or let's say i will portray the bontoc dance but instead i do the tinikling or let's say i will portray the kankanaey dance but i wear the saya,..i'm sure you will react too,..so come on if you are not certain on your performane better not name a specific tribe,..it's better if you just let the viewers wonder which tribe that is,..

I suggest next time before you perform in a public You better watch in youtube those who uploaded by the real Ifugao. then just follow it. don't change to some other kinds of steps as it will destroy the originality of the dance.

lol, when my mom saw this video, she saw some critical no-no's in the dance..
don't kill me for this... i'm not the one pissed off...
first off, the dance is an entirly different dance. It is either kalinga, or bontok....
next the wardrobe is off too... two of the girls were wearing something from a different province...
....the music wasn't even right either...
I'm so sorry, but i'm being forced to write a comment...
again don't kill me for this comment...

nooooooo I know that was your mother's point of view and not yours. I know how adults can be when they force you to do something you don't agree with yet you have to do because they're family.
sorry I didn't mean for it to sound like an attack against you. I just wanted to add an opinion. eh I guess I shouldn't have

oh yeah.. why don't you tell that to those who performed.beside if the video is mislabled why do you have to comment like that. and i'm not telling it's wrong to correct someone but maybe you just did not realize it was so impudent. haha... wen met, ifugao did not lose their culture because of the your dirty red mouths spitting everywhere, puru tupran ti moma ti surroundings u..

You have such an excellent comment iho. I'm teaching at IP and have appreciated their culture coz they've preserved it from the influenced of foreign conquerors and had retained their own identity hence when we represent it erroneously, it is insulting coz they've fought for it from those foreign intruders. Infact Ifugao was the mission field of the missionaries from the Western countries but these missionaries respected their culture
