Global Radio can re-brand the station to Radio X and pay Chris Moyles all the money in the world, but nothing will ever come anywhere near close to being as good as a Saturday afternoon with Ricky, Steve, and Karl.
Beauty is in the ear of the beholder. There are multiple Springsteen versions that kill this. But that's not a knock on this recording. It's easily my favorite cover of a brilliant song by a brilliant artist.
God knows if Bruce's rendition of his gem song moves but this one succeeds to emulate in a low key, peculiar and beautiful way. BDB links it to something melancholic and childish that is his usual trade mark. So touching !
@Johan10cruyff I have it on the accompanying CD of an UNCUT mag issue (back in 2002 I think). It included covers of Springsteen songs. Don't know if it's included anywhere else
An excellent cover of a Bruce chestnut. Better than the original? No, but it stand on its own as something unique. I came across this on UNCUT; Born To Run; The Best Of The Boss, Volume One {UNCUT 2003 04A} [CDRip] from 2003
Re-listening to the XFM series with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, & Karl Pilkington. I decided to look this up. What a lovely tune.
Good song. Cant beat springsteens version though XD
Haha! That's awesome. Me too.
Lol. Me too.
Me Too!!! Haha
Haha, same here! Thought I’d give it a listen between monkey news and rockbusters 😂

Era un mio sogno sentire questa cover cantata da Badly Drawn Boy. Ora si è avverato.
