Note: The time for energy shield recharge to begin appears to be slower in PoE2. 1:23 it seems to be a base delay of 4 seconds instead of the 2 second base delay in PoE1.
Something that is important to note is that mind over mater now will provide 100% protection to heath at the cost of 50% slower mana regenation. This is interesting because it now allows the use of the CI keystone with MoM
Remember that all of these changes are made within the context of an entirely new game. These changes sound strange based on what we know about poe1, but may make perfect sense once we get the full poe2. I'm interested to see how this feels.
Some serious overreactions in these comments lmao CI is exactly the same and hybrid builds have more eHP because ES actually DOES something against chaos damage instead of literally nothing. Obviously items with bypass prevention modifier like shavronne's will need to be changed as they provide very little value with these ES changes.
ES takes double damage from chaos now, how is that no worse lmao. If you are going hybrid you are taking 2x damage to es instead of 1x to hp and poison STILL bypasses this. You will still need bypass prevention in all cases where you needed it before, but now you need 2x ES for the same mitigation against chaos. Let's hope there are other chnagswe jusg don't know about? Like 75% chaos res or chaos damage being rare again.
Chaos damage simply doing double damage to your health pool is a terrible mechanic choice. It's just a number boost with no actual impact to the player other than spikes of a bigger number coming in, which turns potential gameplay mechanic interactions into simply making sure you have beefy enough stats to steamroll whatever numbers monsters throw at you. Changing the bypassing to DoTs is an even dumber choice. Unless they significantly change how we handle DoT debuffs, we're always going to be forced to run buttons that "turn off" this mechanic if it is threatening enough to kill us - something it will always do if you want to run a hybrid build in 2, as you're basically sacrificing up to half of your HP pool investment into a pool that periodically takes double damage and doesn't actually protect you from some of the hardest statistically but simplest mechanically counterable damage sources in the game. Really not a good idea imo.
@@rhodan74 Health Pool includes both Health Points and the covering Energy Shield. Looking closer it's even worse since it's a double damage modifier to only *part* of your health pool.
bleeding cannot be inflicted on targets with ES in poe2. maybe poison have something similar rule. also it was replied somewhere that using CI makes you pseudo-immune to bleeding so hopefully we can calculate with the 1life but chaos immunity possibility 🎉
@NA-nb7fi we cam only hope there are some other unknown changes that this males sense with, but taking straight up double chaos damage to ES is garbage. If enemies get an ES regeneration mod they'll effectively become half damage ronyou
These changes sound like complete ass. Double damage to hp and no bypass unless its poison , meaning you need to still meed to prevent bypass but also need to double your ES against chaos damage. Seems like a massive nerf??? Lets hope they make sense when we see what mechanics justify this change once the game is finally playable
they mentioned somewhere that using CI makes you pseudo-immune to bleeding because bleeding cannot be inflicted on a target with ES. meaning CI will be in poe2 hopefully with the same effects 🎉
@BenceBori so immune to bleeding and immune to poison but you take double damage to ES. Makes me think that not only is ES cooked, but that access to bleed and poison immunity have been cooked too. I really hope these changes are addressed alongside a change to dot capping. Double damagr with chaos to ES is literlalt meaningless if the game is unable to apply the damage increase.
@NageIfar in relation to what we know so far based on poe1. Notwithstanding the meme of "poe2 will fix this", giving chaos damage double bonk to ES is a straight up nerf to ES. Hopefully it's a change that makes sense in the greater context, but given that ES recharge delay is 4 seconds it just sounds bad. You literallt have to stack double ES to get the same value as right now -- and you'll still need to jump through all the hoops of preventing bypass. Like I said, I'm sure it'll be fine cos of other unseen mechanics, but I won't lie by saying it's not concerning
There is no bypass. You take more damage to ES, but ES takes the full hit. Only poison bypasses, and if you're bleeding ES recharge/regen will not protect you from the bleed.

so, CI + EB + new MoM, immortal nake 1hp guy!!
add divine flesh on top and we got a build going!

chaos innoculation giving bleed immnunity?? thats a buff 🫡😍👌🏼
Great vid as usual
People having tantrums without even knowing most of the details, lol typical one button gamers 😂

This changes feel like it there just for the sake of making something different without a purpose 😂

Chaos Damage does double damage to energy shield, not life.
Maybe you have to wait until we can play poe 2 to see how it feel.

Good, keep the crying types away from this great game.
