Yeah I've never heard about it until now and I while I don't delve into crypto. I dip my toes a few times with videos like this so more than the average Joe outside of the crypto sphere and I still didn't know about Luna lmao
They had branding at a MLB ballpark lol. And a section that no employees knew about the crash.
Or after really. Most people know about the major crypto is dropping in price but very few know about Luna unless you follow the crypto space specifically.
I hadn't but it was my gateway into crypto along with cardano. People sold me on it early on.
Eventually though after watching a lot of Coffeezilla vids, seeing my own successes and failures, knowing my budget and hearing a really fucked up NFT talk from some thinktank that spoke at my workplace i noped the fuck out of crypto with my gains about a month before this happened.
It was pretty scary though, like i had only invested what i could afford and THOUGHT i did my due diligence. But I was surprised at how easily i got sucked into it all.
It's amazing how the running theme in crypto is delusion and narcissism. The creators are scammer sociopaths and the investors are self deluded silver spoon children who have no concept of the work behind the value of every dollar. Normal people won't get far in this environment.
It's crazy they're still trying to salvage this mess. Also suddenly being like "regulation is awesome" when you need to claw your money back

I mentioned this in a previous comment section; the fact that these ppl are publicly scamming ppl out of their money and that some of those ppl are so down on their luck, that they might take drastic measures to get back at the scammers. The SEC cracking down on them should be the least of their worries in the coming future.
The SEC has so far allowed no publicly traded fund to own crypto directly, but they tend to be faize faire and won't act use they're expected to.

It was kind of amusing and also sad to see people actually suggesting everyone should get payed back. That's the last thing that should happen. They made an investment knowing there's risk and lost. This is a lesson they all needed. Sadly many still won't learn from this as many think Luna 2.0 will magically appear and pay them back in 1-5 years. Its like they've experienced a complete break from reality.

I only lost $600 from the Luna crash.... Well I guess technically $599.9992 (laugh, it's funny). I can only imagine how the people feel that lost huge amounts and/or their life savings. I am relatively new in the crypto space and new in investing in general. Looking at this as a valuable lesson.
It's been my overwhelming experience that people that use the term "crypto space" are virtually immune to learning lessons.
Never invest in a stablecoin that isn't backed by fiat, period. It doesn't matter how clever it markets itself as.

Algorithmic ones, yes. Ones that are backed by hard assets are safer, unless those other assets slide in value far enough. Stablecoins like GUSD and USDC are supposed to be 100% backed by fiat, not options, futures, stocks, or other cryptos.
