I never realized how much shigekix is like Hong 10 until this battle. It's like Hong 10 is vsing a mini version of himself.
After Hong10 Lost first round he went BEASTMODE. Shigekix is up and coming red bull bc one champion. Hong10 showed so much respect to him and used signatures in the 2nd and 3rd... That just shows Hong 10 sees potential in him. Im Excited.

Crazy battle. It's like they're watching distant versions of themselves. Shigekix is what, 13? By the time he's Hong's age, hes going to be an absolute monster. His toprock and musicality is sick for someone so young. I can't wait to see what kind of moves and transitions he'll incorporate in future sets.

Hong10's top rock should be one of the best out there, I could watch it over and over. Fresh and dope.
Two amazing things about this battle:
1) Hong 10 will be 31 years old soon and yet he is still showing improvements, getting better than he has ever been since the day he got out of military service few years ago.
2) Shigekix is already one of the best bboys in the world at the age of 13.
Another different thing is... Hong 10 is legend bboy but Shigekix is not...

Now 5 years later.. Shigekix had just won Red Bull BC One 2020 and becomes the youngest ever to do it at age 18.
Coming back to this battle in 2020, you can see just how much Shigekix has improved.

Hope Shigekix would learn from Hong 10 and keep on improving his own things.
I know his move is somewhat similar to the one of Hong 10 signature moves, but you can't really blame him for that.
There is like so many moves in the bboying world now, and you will never know whether the move that you practiced for a long time was actually has been used by the other bboys.
I've started bboying since 2008 and I know what it's felt like to be called a bitter just because I did the almost exact same move of the other guys or other bboys around the world who I don't even know.
But seriously Shigekix has done a very good job to battle one of the living legend.
And for Hong 10, to saw the kid potential and he's trying to bring out the whole things out of Shigekix so that he can learn and improve for the better, is just perfect.
Without doubt Shigekix will definitely going to be a star in a couple of more years, just like his fellow Japanese bboy Issei, even though Issei started his bboying life with his own original moves.

I agree that Shigekix powermoves definately resembles Hong10 but I would also agree about your point with biting.
IMO, Biting isn't really as applicable as it was in the earlier years, where moves were less universal. sure there are some that will be iconic, but barring people from practicing a move just out of respect is difficult to do>
What if you're inspired to create a new move because you saw someone else and thought "I can do something like that" and then get called a biter? it blocks the entire idea of innovation
Everybody saying Shigekix is a biter off of ONE FUCKING TRANSITION! He bit one fucking transition while there's shit he does Hong 10 never did or will do, and vice versa. that 13 year old would probably smoke your grown asses in battle too. Props to Hong 10 for putting it down against the young cat and showing he still got that beast in him 💯

Just so you guys know... Hong10 is a very popular bboy and Japan and has been competing there for over a decade now. I remember a japanese whose moves are actually all-Hong10. I forgot the year and the event though. :( great battle btw. Loved the energy. Hong10 nailed that move on the last round.

I'm sure as the kid grows he will come into his own. However, no need to check him as that happened at the battle,at this moment , for the world to see.
