“I know an old lady who swallowed a fly, I dunno why, she swallowed a fly.” When I was 6 we used to have the puppet version of that book. And I’m now scared of puppets.
My teacher in 4th grade had 3 books of “The Light In a Attic” , a lot of kids read it. I never did because I wasn’t interested in it. But I don’t understand how one of my friends in 4th read the whole book, without being scared
True story: me and my family want to a hotel and when we had to wait for a room me,my dad, and my brother are sitting on a couch, my brother was playing with his shadow, all of a sudden the shadow froze and started twitching, that hotel was a very old and fancy. I still want answers today years later...

I remember reading “there was an old lady who swallowed a fly” that was a Halloween themed version but in the end she threw them all up or like something like that
Just my opinion about the book "love you forever" Maybe its not too literal. Maybe it means that no matter how hard it is the mom will still make a way to comfort his son in bad times even if its far away she will do her best to comfort his son eventhough he is big enough to make his owns decisions she will be there to comfort him. The crawling part may mean that she doesnt want his son to be disturbed while sleeping or it could mean that the son is keeping his problems on his own so the mom will comfort him so that her son can sleep without thinking about the problem and could also remind his unproblematic childhood. ILY JESS
Guess there is a banned book in my elementary school, I loved reading A light in the Attic, by far one of my favorite books and what’s funny is, I wasn’t even alive at the time it was banned. My mom: ( opens door to get a diaper to change my sister ) Me: ( throws glass at her ) PS: she's in the hospital and I'm grounded for a year but I took this away from my dads shelf secretly TnT
I loved the old lady who swallowed a fly, I remember reading it over and over again at a car dealership once 😭 And I was such a Shel Silverstein stan, my fave was the house at the end of the block (or something to that effect)
Struwwelpeter was actually in the show the office when Dwight is reading to the kids on take your daughter to work day episode. He told the story of the thumb cutter and Michael cuts in and tells him that it’s weird and inappropriate. Which, in fact, I agree with
I am partly german so the book „der struwwelpeter“ is very familiar to me. He used to be so scary to me because of his finger nails. The writer also wrote other stories like this one story about a girl who played with matches and then burned... Do not read that story because I still get nightmares to this day about it
I grew up loving "the old lady who swallowed a fly" so I read "the old lady who swallowed a bell" and then a few days before Christmas I was chewing on a tiny bell you'd use for crafts and ended up choking on it 😃👍

I loved the old lady who swallowed a fly, I remember reading it over and over again at a car dealership once 😭
And I was such a Shel Silverstein stan, my fave was the house at the end of the block (or something to that effect)
They remade there one was an old lady who swallowed a fly but in the end she lived. And I gess burped all the animals out?😐🤔😑

Yep, But we watched the dying part
Ew

I feel like I read both versions but she exploded
Struwwelpeter was actually in the show the office when Dwight is reading to the kids on take your daughter to work day episode. He told the story of the thumb cutter and Michael cuts in and tells him that it’s weird and inappropriate. Which, in fact, I agree with
I loved the book "der Strubelpeter" when I was in Kindergarten

I did.

Wrong :/
Yes i read it once and for that you get a like
I am partly german so the book „der struwwelpeter“ is very familiar to me. He used to be so scary to me because of his finger nails.
The writer also wrote other stories like this one story about a girl who played with matches and then burned...
Do not read that story because I still get nightmares to this day about it
BS I have that book, too. Not scaring at all.
Also ich habe das Buch geliebt und habe mich eig. nur gefragt wie unverantwortlich die Eltern der Kinder nur sein können, dass ihnen soetwas zustösst
I grew up loving "the old lady who swallowed a fly" so I read "the old lady who swallowed a bell" and then a few days before Christmas I was chewing on a tiny bell you'd use for crafts and ended up choking on it 😃👍
Are you ok
