Hi everyone. In a live earlier this year we discussed Eboni K Williams decision to be a single mother after struggling to find a suitable partner. Single moms have received alot of backlash in the media but some women are redefining what it means to be a single mother and choosing to be a single mother by choice (SMBC). There are alot of conflicting opinions about single women deciding to start families on their own. How you choose to raise your family is a personal decision but we cant ignore the growing trend of single mothers especially in the black community. In this clip we discuss this further.

When Ebony K Williams was in her 20s she was with a Black man who was a 6 figure earner, who wanted to marry her but like most American BW she wasn't ready to settle down yet.

She also admitted to being a "bad" wife when she was younger because she put her career ambitions before the family goals. She didn't understand (or agree with) sacrifices that wives make.

It’s really thought-provoking to see she CHOSE single motherhood over settling for a man that’s not her type. It may show she never met a man who would be able to truly provide for her and her child.
