i heard Mauritanian music for the first time today on a radio station in new york and i must say its beatiful to the ears!! at first i thought it was taureg music from mali but the dj said Mauritania and i have been in a trance ever since...god bless Mauritania !!
My God what a beautiful voice and what a beautiful woman!! Her eyes are amazingly beautiful!! Well I have read many books written by XIX century Occidental travelers and all of them said that Arabic women were so beautiful that it was difficult to find words to decribe them,,Most of them were veiled, of course, but just a glimpse of their gazelle eyes was enough to inspire poets, painters, musicians and awaken the most sublime feelings. Arabic eyes are like candles that illuminate the poets
Great music, you can use it for meditation imagining yourself dunes of Sahara or Atlantic coast ........though I dont't understand Arabic and never been to Mauritania
@@zenata6179 That's why this guy said it sounded like a cross between Arabic and African blues (more exactly Malian music which is the origin of Mauritanian music and the origin of the Blues) But you had to bring your amazigh stuff which has nothing to do with it.
I have always loved world music, but this by far is extremely acquired taste, even for season listeners accustomed to arabic music. Never the less, I love it, and it has a very unique dare I say psychedelic tone to it. Gorgeous, Idk if Nouakchott is safe or not, but if so would mind visiting Mauritania's capital.
well ive traveled to quite a few places with travel warnings. never had an issue and felt fine. I think the us over exaggerates the situation for americans sake. Thats why i never go by the state department. I always talk to people on the ground. Now if someone says to me they are from a certain place and wont visit, then you know its not safe. but if someone says be careful, I just watch myself.
Daniel Fox it’s really safe. Of course I’m only talking about cities. also, french is much needed nowadays. You can get around with english and even when people don’t speak english they will try their best to help you. If you’re thinking of going there this summer, I’d love to show you beautiful places around Nouakchott that not many tourist get to visit.
mauritaniamint please help me I understand. Why do these people look mixed? They look arabic. I didn't know the arab influence on Mauritania was so deep. Also don't the arabs still enslave the indigenous Blacks there?
She is singing in a type of arabic called hassaniya which a form of hilalic arabic spoken in Mauritania, south of Morocco( western sahara). Please inform yourself before making comments.
@MRHYDELIVE This version of Arabic spoken by this Mauritanian singer is "Hassani Arabic"; an older version of Arabic that only Mauritanians and some Moroccans understand. Arabic is my native tongue and unfortunately I can understand very few words of what she's saying.
Mauritanians tend to be on the lighter side, though she most likely lighten herself a bit more. That's her business. I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Can someone translate it? Please?!!!! I don't speak a bit of Hassaniyyah despite being pretty fluent in Arabic. :(
والله ال هح واسكي كرمي please i observed bad comment please respect our music and culture,Mauritania is Arabic African country we have different colors
Amalgamaite what so you mean? You are an ignoramus do you think you are better than black? And it doesn't make you white or Arab, you are just in the unknown.
First of all she is African and not Arab. And her face clearly shows her African roots. Unfortunately she has bleached her skin so aggressively there is no color left in it, but in case I am wrong she is pretty fair skinned. But Mauritania is Africa. And the language she is singing in sounds very African.

correct your mistake above, you would have stated Moroccan Sahara rather than Western because you are not being realistic as the sahara territories are under Moroccan flag
