Love this. Reminds me of a quote from Oscar Wilde. "The only difference between the saint & the sinner is that every saint has a past, & every sinner has a future." People often take this out of context to excuse their past rather than accepting the challenge to allow the Holy Spirit to transform us.

I suffered and still suffer from bouts of despair and bleakness, but this Saint and God's message through him is what I have to keep in mind: no matter how bad the past, I ought to give myself to Him, and He will use even those imperfections to bring out the best and make His will manifest.
    Excellent homily!

Most of the lives of most people are graffiti scrawlings on the underpass wall.
God can *and will* change that to a fresco above the Sistine Chapple.
(if we only put down the rattle cans and let Him use the brushes)
      ...just a thought...

This is exactly why we must pray fervently for Pope Francis. Offer up the holy rosary for the conversion salvation and sanctification of our Pope, Cardinals. Bishops, priests and religious. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ desires so. When we do so, His wounds are soothed. Our Blessed Mother is soothed. Graces are poured out upon the world. We are ALL sinners. Our Lord forgives upon repentance and confession. I was a hardened sinner. It is prayers of so many that brought me back to God. My mother entrusted and consecrated me to Our Lady of Grace shortly after I was born. Thank you mom and may your soul rest in peace. Amen.

Seriously, we're never seeing those three descriptors for any modern pope again.

There is only one God who is eternally manifesting himself in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
The Bible says, that we are all sinners.
As it is written: There is none righteous, no not one. Romans 3:10
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6
For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23
(The word “death” in this verse speaks of spiritual death in hell.)
But the cowardly, UNBELIEVING, Abominable murderers. Sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Rev 21:8
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Isaiah 1:18
Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures 1Cor 15 3:8
In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14
For by grace ye are saved; through faith and not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast EPH 2:8
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vein Galatians 2:21
If you would like to receive Jesus as your Savior.
Realize that you are a hopeless sinner and trust in Jesus and only Jesus to save you.
You can say a prayer expressing your gratitude, sorrow for your sins, etc. the words don’t matter, but remember your prayer DOES NOT save you. Your trust in Jesus and what He did for you on the cross is what saves you.
The moment you trust in Jesus and only Jesus, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit and are saved forever.

Anonymity is important in these times, alas.
      God knows his own.
      Pray nonetheless.

Hold on. 8:20 So Tertullian and St. Hippolytus of Rome said if you apostasized or committed adultery you were excommunicated for ever? Even when you confessed & repented? Source?

He mentioned the book on saints he was referencing but I forgot the name. He also said the early Church was still working things out, this was only the 2nd century. St. Callixtus changed this.
