Why am I the only person to have made a video on this, surely everyone else noticed. Also all of these appear in the Overworld when a demon respawns. I've decided on my next Project series but let me just say that parts might take a while in between to come out. You'll understand when part 1 comes out.
Thank you for clarifying all of this ! I had noticed that different animations existed, but never realized they were linked to demon races. I thought it depended on the type of battle you were in. You also get used to seeing them to the point where you no longer notice them. In SMT2, the animations were lingering, so you had nothing else to do but watch them haha
Absolutely loved this as soon as I saw it in SMT V and I'm surprised nobody else is talking about it. The summoning circle reminded me of when I got lost in SMT II and fought Alps and Jack Frosts for hours and hours. Callbacks to the SFC games are always super fun! Plus it makes the demons feel way more unique. It's such a tiny detail but it adds so much personality and texture. Thanks for compiling all of this! Looking forward to the next project, but please don't burn yourself out!
I played SMT5 for the first time yesterday! I loved that they put back the entrance animations in reference to SMT1/2. I wish we got the whole "scene" again, not only the animation. Battle starting with no music, demon entrance with sound effect, then music starts. Still, the animations are cool af
Thanks for putting this together! I appreciate that you went out of your way to compile footage even if it wasn't part of your projects going on rn, you really didn't have to
Late to add this since I’m about to watch all the Card Summoner stuff BUT: for some reason when you summon Genma Amanozako she still uses the circle of fire animation. I don’t remember if other Genma demons like Fionn MacCumhail have that, but yeah. Pretty cool.
I didnt know all of the summon animations were from the snes games except the yellow summoning circle which looks identical to the fusion effect in smt 1
I always noticed these entrance animations in the older games with sprites, but I didn't in V somehow! Perhaps because there's a lot more to look at in a newer 3d entry I had just never noticed
