Ford Kuga TDCi Diesel Turbo replacement

In this video we replace a failed turbo on a ford Kuga with the 2L TDCi engine.
The job isn't bad, just annoying bolts to get to!
The turbo failed due to lack of servicing.
decent access to do the job, a lot easier as its on a lift and not the floor!

Good video. Just started to do this on mu Kuga but its a 4 wheel drive which means there is a big drive box in the way. Looks like the engine has to come forward to get to the turbo!

Yer you will have a transfer box in the way… that’s a terrible job 😞

Did the turbo fix the whistling. Mines doing same but some say its the seal on the exhaust manifold.

how long does a job like this take? mines been in the garage for a week.

This took around 6h as I had to clean the intercooler and all the boost pipes ect and let them dry off and make sure no oil ect!!

Hi have a 2009 4 wheel drive, have it a week and twice it's lost power. Is that a sign turbo is on its way out?

No not always, normally it’s blue smoke on start up and hard acceleration… lack of power also is one but get it checked asap!

Hi, what colour is the smoke? If it’s blue then I would advise you get the turbo checked! Black is fuel, white could be water!

I would get a smoke test done first! Or check the injectors… could be a few different things!!
