very well done and being a HAM for 7 years but never doing anything with it I am getting this unit. Been refreshing my knowledge as having this radio will be a great compliment to my GMRS and sat comms.

Very interesting to watch. I'm still on GMRS but this was informative.

Thanks! I am going to look into a GMRS radio to add as well. I am hoping they lower the fee soon like it's been speculated.
      What radio are you running?

I am going to for sure. Still honestly need to dive into it more so I know what I'm talking about in a video on it though lol. Appreciate you watching and subscribing. Let's connect on Ham after you get your license.

It looks like - if the main unit get too hot under the seat you can run some tubing on the heat outlet located under the seat a little further passed the unit and maybe not heat it up too much. The unit will heat up the more you transmit, and they stay relatively cool when you are just listening.

Great job... only concern is heat. These radios are known to get hot... keep an eye on that... otherwise great install!

Thanks for the heads up. I will throw a thermometer on the thing next time I fire it up. How long do you think I should wait to test its temp after I turn it on?

I don’t or at least not many I’d submerge to the inside cab floor. Who knows, someday I may regret it

Congrats on your ham license. Great radio but you bought a crappy antenna.

      What antenna would you recommend?

@@EvergreenOverland Look at Diamond or Comet 2m/440 antennas. I have a Diamond it's the 10 ft model. Works great.

I'm in my 60s and had no issues on my little laptop. It might be time to check out hearing aids Barry.
