Super cool. I really wanted to get a PSA one of these, but then I think recently they stopped grading them after they said they would start grading etc. Gratz on the wicked collection.

Schoncho bought all the star cards that were left and were the first cards to be graded by beckett. So, if you own one. Its one of the first batch ever graded by Beckett

Be careful buying any raw ones. I bought a ton of fake cards on Etsy almost every Jordan they made in the 80s star fleer. They are awesome to display on my bookcase not worriedl kids will ruin them but omg they are so real and I don’t know how they can even legally sell them
Hi there, loved your take on star Jordan cards, anyways I was hoping that you could help me with the answer to my question that no one can seem to help me with, ok so I have a 101 rookie card and I have asked everyone with jordan / star experience and no can ever really help, except for this one jordan collector that I asked at the last card show that I went to and he looked this card up and down, he looked for all the secrets that your supposed to look for and I guess the card passed every thing thrown at it, Now the only thing he didn't like was how dark the photo was around his facial eara, anyways what makes my card so interesting is the fact that it has Jordan's facimally autograph in blue across the card, now I have only seen 1 other card like this and it sold for $10,500 on ebay last year and a guy offered me $5,000 at a card show, now I just need to know if it's real or a reprint I know it's not fake but I just want to know so that I can sell it bext time if it is a reprint or to send it in for grading? Just please help you sound like the genius I need to talk to, please help if you have any questions please ask and it won't allow me to send any photos anyways. Thank you very much Stephen

the fact that they graded a fake card is literally why I don't trust beckett. I only buy psa. I'd crack all these and submit them to psa. I bet half would come back altered or fake

1984-85 Star Court Kings 5x7 #26 Michael Jordan was technically before the 101 why wouldn't the 5x7 be his "true rookie"
@itsVoiViD the 5x7 court kings is not a base card in the set. That's why the #101 is so incredibly special. For a base card to be that rare, naturally, organically, not a staged short print by a company to create artificial value. I do love the court kings as well, I own a nice one, I think it should be considered an "insert" type RC and it's also way undervalued because it's also extremely rare.
@@freedomfight1933 fair point but i guess im an old head. The 101 is an XRC, although an awesome card I don't consider it to be a true rookie. I also don't consider the court kings to be a true rookie either. but they're both awesome cards and that's a cool collection
@@jimmy_iKoN you might already know that Beckett magazine was the one to label the 101 XRC, comments by them after suggest they might regret doing that but don't want to look bad by changing it later. There's no clear authority on the definition of an RC but if you took a consensus criteria generally on anyone's card then being a pro card from an officially licensed company in the players rookie year would definitely top the list. And that factor would clearly outweigh the type of pack it came in, which is the main argument against it.

Hi again, anyways I have a quick question about this card, I have sent photos of the card anyways, I have been in touch with Steve Taft and he said that he has never seen this card before and i have looked everywhere for this card and have never seen this card anywhere, anyways I was hoping that you could please tell me a little bit about this card with your experience and expertise in the star card

What year was the star 85 slam dunk super set released? I was assuming it got released in 1985 along with all of the star 85 subsets.

I would consider his 1984-85 Star Court Kings 5x7 #26 to be his "True rookie" over the 101.. it came before the 101 and was distributed the same way. Not to mention it's a far better looking card. You guys watch too much sports card investor videos. His true rookie is the 86 Fleer and if you say the Star was before the fleer well the court king star was before the 101. I'm not hating btw. Great collection
Never been proven court kings came before the star 101. Ask Steve taft himself, the Godfather of Star Cards.

I love the fleer! It's a must have. Always thought of it as a rookie as a kid. Def the better picture. Its just a card released in 86-87 and is not his rookie year card. It's a 3rd year card. Imagine any current player in their 3rd year and calling it a rookie.
sounds like you have an 86 mass produced POS card and trying to downplay a card with tops 5000 printed.
Fleer fanboy with faulty facts
what do you mean catch up? the Star cards have always been worth a lot more money and Beckett Monthly called it them XRC since issue 1 with Mike's face on it. the Fleer is more known and can be considered a rookie card too, but it's never been the best Jordan card to own. Sure the Star cards look like junk but they were distributed as retail wax in their day and priced by the guide so they're grail pieces. Speaking as an owner of every Fleer card/sticker with MJ on it and few if any Star cards.
If you want to lose money, buy Michael Jordan cards 🤣
