I also have the Smith & Wesson 1.0, running a Smith & Wesson MP extended threaded barrel, Faxon comp with an Apex trigger with a 12 lb stainless steel guide rod. Best pistol I own, it's 100% reliable.
Great video. I've held onto my Gen 1 M&P9 ('08/09) and have done most everything to it slowly over time. Apex trigger (not sure how it compares to Timney), rear-blacks, front FO, TTI Magwell extension, TTI mag extensions, extended thumb safety, stippling everywhere - recently upgraded to Faxon threaded w/ compensator. About 400 rounds in and I haven't had an issue yet, but it was more stiff than stock for sure. Next step to modernize the gun is an optic-cut slide like the Patriot you have shown here, and a dot. Thanks for the upload.
Been wanting to upgrade my barrel and trigger in my 2.0 Thinking this is the one. Just got laid off so when I get back to work I’ll be getting mine hopefully
I have the 1.0 with apex trigger and upgraded sights. I'm not into getting a new pistol to get a red dot and I don't want to mess with my slide. But a faxon upper with dot sounds nice.
I have almost this exact set-up, except with an Apex trigger. I changed out the recoil rod & spring to an Ed Brown rod & 13lb spring. It runs 124 gr. ammo flawlessly.
Indeed, the S&W M&P 2.0 can be improved to desired functionality. It is an outstanding quality handgun overall. Another great video presentation! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@GhostFirst, I don't care for Glock pistols. Second, your personal opinion on the Smith & Wesson platform is just that: an opinion. You aren't neither a "gun guru," or a "god of firearms." You are just a gun aficionado entitled to your own opinion. Last, if the "funny curvy trigger" was "so fine," why S&W changed it for a flat face trigger? Users demanded it by far and enlarge. (By the way, this is NOT Garand Thumb channel).
Polished the internals on this as well on a g19 around the same time... The m&p became AMAZING compared to stock internals... Glock still felt like stock crap but for zero $... It's the best upgrade you can do
I just picked up a used M&P last night still new in the box for $280 with 3 mags. Have some range time on other M&Ps, like them but the trigger leaves a lot to be desired non the less. I got it for a good deal so cannot complain, undecided yet what I’ll do with it

@@HuntFishShootChannel l carried a 1.0 40 m and p as my duty weapon. I was actually issued another 1.0 after 5 years. Then carried the second issue for another 5.5 years. After watching this video I subscribed! I upgraded to an Apex trigger, got the Faxon threaded barrel and strike quad compensator for my gen 1 M&P Shield. I look forward to doing what you did to a full size M&P
Can you add a match grade barrel with no suppressor (Illegal in Illinois) in the first gen full size 4.25"? I have a Apex trigger and Ameriglo Target Sights on it. Just wondering if it's a drop in and even possible. Thank you!!!!
Could you please tell me where you bought a 12lb recoil spring. Mine will no cycle right and all the springs I see are all heavy weight springs. Is there like a kit? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Bro, i shot lots of rounds through my stock 2.0 m&p , nothing wrong with trigger , i get its cool to have short trigger pull and reset... but the stock pistol is extremely well built, reliable, very accurate,
That trigger sucks in the standard 2.0 or 1.0. Their newest iteration out which is flat faced and blade like a Glock one is great, their hinged ones are a disservice to an otherwise great pistol!
@@HuntFishShootChannel What's a flat faced trigger shoe cost? Just the Shoe? Hey guys that's a great running pistol,I've been a fan of the Q5 but passed by it too many times and my LGS sold it and it's discontinued , I guess thiers new stuff to check out ( Shadow Systems) yeah I like race guns. I'm still looking into Axial Extreme , the reviews have been up and down but I think I'll go for it. I appreciate you guys review's.
Young man have you ever shot the Walther PDP. I bought one when they first came out mine has a 4.5 " barrel. I've put well over a 1,000 rounds threw it a never had a hiccup. It's accuracy is amazing I hit 3" plates at 50 yards thats the distance limit at the club.
Or, as i like to call it: How to turn a $450 pistol into an $1100 pistol. Just add new slide, barrel, extractor, compensator and red dot. Oh, and let's not forget the long distance calls to the manufacturer and $70 worth of ammo for 'break in'.

124 grain and above. probably no change but would definitely find what works best with each individual pistol based off performance and reliability!
Would that trigger work with the Girsan mc28sa ? Or any trigger for M&p ?
Can’t answer that for you, it’s designed for the M&P pistols
Can these take the 23round magazine for the 2.0
This is an original M and P and it should but we haven’t tried
Which recoil spring did you guys run? Trying to run the same setup. Thank you!
Ended up running with a 12lb spring and haven’t had a single malfunction since.
12 lb brass recoil spring for a little more weight up front.
What state is this ? Rapid firing right close to that highway . XD I gotta drive 40 miles or to. Shooting range :/ or on a side st at 12 am
It is Ohio. Also we are about 400 yards south of a county road firing into a hillside. The highway is nowhere close.
