Thank you for the 4K version. It's criminal how official Avatar channels still upload blurry 1080p in 2022 and doesn't give the astounding visuals its proper shine when you're selling an immaculate presentation like Avatar 2 as its main appeal.
Seriously, it’s ridiculous, it’s a James Cameron film and it’s Avatar, and it’s 2022. With all those combined it makes no sense the official channels are only uploading 1080.

@@BOMBASTICKiNGChickenz if you played it in 4K that might be because TH-cam uses less compression on 4K versions compared to lower resolution’s too.
All official studio channels still only release in 1080p. You always have to specifically go looking for specialty 4k uploads on other channels, and even then, they're usually just uprezzed copies of the 1080p version. I've been raising an eyebrow at the average quality of official movie trailer releases for years. Even by 1080p standards, they're often not great quality. You'd think they'd want to sell their visuals as well as possible.

finally a 4K trailer omg!!! i didnt watch the original upload because they uploaded it in 1080p and straight away it was a pixelated mess the underwater scene. this looks abosutely breathtaking though
I think it might be related to some legalities (like in their contracts) between the production team of Avatar (including the channel) and Dolby. The 4k version might be reserved for the Dolby channel for its promotion. That is especially given that Dolby handles the tech for how the movie will look best on screen. It's possible that what they're going for is that fans of Avatar would know that the 4k version is in Dolby if it were in 1080 in the main channel. So, even if the Avatar team would want to have the best version in their channel, Dolby might reserve those rights for theirs.

Remind people that James Cameron is the master of 3D cinematography and Avatar is the purest and simplest example of his craft. If they want a more complex example, tell them to watch Aliens. But that doesnt mean Avatar is any less than a masterpiece. The Way of Water could be Empire Strikes Back if it was made by a master filmmaker.
After over a decade of contrarianism and/or doubt surrounding this franchise, Cameron is gonna show people once again how to make a next level blockbuster.

Saw this in Dolby 3D earlier this month and I think it broke me. It looked so good that I couldn't stand 1080p anymore so then I upgraded to 1440p ips and that wasn't good enough either. Now I'm sitting here with a 4k OLED 42 inch tv as my pc monitor and it's the best purchase I've ever made.

Saw this movie in Dolby cinema earlier today at December 18th 4 pm. Wow the bass and visuals of the movie was unlike nothing I ever seen before. Great movie definitely worth the Dolby price of ticket worth the wait, and 3+ hours of the movie
