      -Fitness is massive. If you turn up top third fitness you will have the backing of the DS straight away. Those who start weak finish weak. Especially if you want infantry.
      -pre read the book overlord by max hastings. It’s a book you are told to read during the course but finding time can be tough and any spare time you have you don’t want to be reading.
      -uni students can join UOTC and develop basic skills like Nav and go on buckshee exercises which are like camping but it’s nights in the field to get them used to it.
      -The academic course is all developed there so there is no point pre reading psychology or anything.
      -Being the first person up and last person asleep goes a long way. If you’ve completed all your admin help the other lads and lady’s in your corridor. That will go a long way and then if they are ever in clip people will want to help because they know you’d do the same.
      -understand the structure of the army and the structure at company level and lower.
      Buy everything in the kit list as well. Some of the shit is pointless but you don’t want to be the person running around looking for a laminator because it looks bad and hold you back.
      Short answer, arrive fit and with a strong idea of where you want to end up at RSBs. And have a good understanding of what the army is as stupid as that sounds. Everything will be baby steps for the first term but you want to be the guy that is always a step ahead.

      I think you can get in on high GCSE grades but it depends on what you put on your application. I doubt Sandhurst will choose a levels or degrees over experienced leaders and opportunists. Best thing to do is be as confident in yourself as you can

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Prety sure you can yeah, we have officers from the south of Ireland who completed all their education there. All went through Sandhurst. No you don’t have any restrictions on what codes you apply for. There is an interview and selection process whilst your in Sandhurst for your chosen core or regiment.

    Irrelevant to the vid, but what should I expect when trying to join up from down in Dublin?
    I live in Dublin and not sure what will be asked of me if I were to go down to an army careers centre

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Damnatus should expect nothing else different than anyone else applying to join up. The only thing you’ll have to do is slug it out in traffic to get to a careers centre in NI. Lol apart from that, everything is the same.

    • @solitary_sins

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Damnatus no no need to move until you begin your training which is all conducted in England where abouts depends on what your aiming to apply for. Education wise is fine, they will take what you have and convert it to it’s equivalent level in the mainland.
