Hi Master Ash. BOYSEN Plexibond is our cementitious waterproofing system formulated to be applied on bare concrete walls and floorings.
Glazing Putty and Patching Compound, on the other hand, are putty or masilya, which are made to correct minor surface imperfections and hairline cracks. Both were formulated to be applied on properly primed surfaces. BOYSEN Patching Compound is a powder-type product mixed with BOYSEN Permacoat Flat Latex and can be used on interior concrete walls only. BOYSEN Plasolux Glazing Putty is an alkyd-type product that can be used on wooden surfaces that have an existing enamel paint system.
Glazing Putty and Patching Compound are not for waterproofing.
Finally, for calsomine, this is not our product. We recommend coordinating with the manufacturer for proper use of the item.

Patching compound mix with flat latex paint para sa concrete at pwede rin pang mix sa mga laquer type na masilya gaya ng laquer spot putty at acrytext cast.plexibond ay para sa waterproofing sa mga bare concrete gaya ng fire wall concrete gutter

Quick question, is efflorescence a concern and should be addressed prior to applying Plexibond on a bare and unpainted concrete?
Hi, Wa! Yes. For new, bare and unpainted concrete, you have to wait for 14-28 days before treating it with BOYSEN Masonry Neutralizer B-44 so that efflorescence or alkali salts would not manifest on the subsequent coatings. After neutralizing the concrete, you can now apply BOYSEN Plexibond B-7760.

Most of our walls are not accessible outside to apply Plexibond which according to you is better applied on the positive side of a wall.
Another question is for filling cracked walls, do you have epoxy cement that is injected and has strong bond with existing mortar?

Hello Boysen! I have been applying plexibond mix with cement for the floors of our apartment units for rent. My problem is every time there is water or any type of liquid on it, the water or liquid makes it white or whitish wherein I have to reapply another coat of plexibond. What is the proper mixture and application for this? Is there a better product for floors? Thank you!

Hi @@jayjose720. Natural o inherent sa kongkreto na magcrack. Kung gusto mong gumamit ng BOYSEN Plexibond bilang waterproofing, siguraduhing aayusin muna ang cracks bago ito ipahid.

Hello. If the cracks or surface imperfections are large, civil works is recommended before the application of BOYSEN Plexibond.
Is it fine to use any brand of Cement? Aside from Portland which is not common in hardware store. Or any substitute brand for good?

Hi Charles. Yes, you can. Just make sure that the BOYSEN Plexibond mixture has been left to dry for at least 1 day prior to tile installation.
Gentle reminders:
• 2 - 3 coats of BOYSEN Plexibond mixture is recommended for vertical applications.
• Check tile adhesive recommendation if it is applicable for vertical surfaces.

Hi @richardrayporras1885. Regardless of the color of Portland cement used, it is still recommended to apply 1 coat primer then 2 coats topcoat for the best performance of waterproofing and paint systems.

In this case, do not mix plexibond with cement, rather, the plexibond liquid itself acts as the bonding agent for your tile adhesive(actually it is written in the packaging, pero madali sya makaligtaan kasi ung pagkakalagay eh hnd masyadong mababasa)

After letting the applied mixture dry for at least 1 day, you can apply the latex painting system (1 coat primer, 2 coats topcoat).

Hi @michaelwagas1656. For the horizontal surfaces, we recommend applying 3 - 5 coats of the BOYSEN Plexibond mixture. Let it dry for at least 1 day before applying 1 coat bond coat (pure BOYSEN Plexibond). While it is tacky or sticky, apply mortar or concrete topping before installing tiles.

Hello. Ang BOYSEN Plexibond ay formulated to be applied sa positive pressure o sa source ng water. Para sa bahay, usually ito ay sa exterior dahil ang source ng water seepage ay ang tubig ulan na galing sa labas.
With that, hindi recommended na ipahid ito sa interior. Also, formulated ito for use sa bare concrete walls. Hindi siya pwede sa surfaces na may existing paint.

2 - 3 coats ng BOYSEN Plexibond ang recommended na ipahid sa kongkretong pader sa labas ng bahay. Patuyuin ng at least 1 day bago pinturahan.

Hi Jasreen. Para masolusyunan ang water seepage o ang pagkatas ng tubig sa iyong slab, mainam na hanapin muna ang source ng tubig. Maaaring mga cracks sa exterior, mga butas, at/o iba pa. Kailangang ayusin muna ito, bago mag-pintura. Magpapabalik-balik lang ang problema kung hindi muna ito magagawa.
Advisable na kumonsulta sa mga professionals tulad ng waterproofing experts o contractor para sigurado ang pag-aayos ng iyong problema.

Ma'am, for alignment purposes, hindi po paint si BOYSEN Plexibond. Cementitious waterproofing system po siya. Because of this, after applying BOYSEN Plexibond, it is still recommended to paint the surface. :)
For the bathroom, yes, you may use BOYSEN Plexibond on the floor and walls provided that there is no existing paint. For the floor, after application of BOYSEN Plexibond, please apply mortar topping before painting or instal tiles. For the walls, no need to apply mortar topping prior to painting.
Remember to let BOYSEN Plexibond dry for at least 1 day prior to applying primer.
