This Twitch Chatter Talked Trash... So I Watched His Replays

  • Sometimes, I see someone in twitch chat or the youtube comments backseat criticizing people that are better than them. Whether it be a silver ranked player roasting a diamond, or in this case a master ranked player criticizing a higher ranked MR player, this just seems to always happen. Since I had some time to watch his replays and analyze the matches a little bit, I found that he didn't understand the mistakes in his own game and maybe you guys also can learn a little from this experience.
Street Fighter 6, the next game in the iconic series, will release in 2023! Take part in the Fighting Ground, which focuses on the classic fighting game experience with modes from previous games in the series. Two new modes will be available alongside: World Tour, an immersive single-player story experience, and Battle Hub, which will further expand the scope of player communication and engagement. Your Moment. Your Fight.

    • @ThatPinkOtter
      @ThatPinkOtter 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@MrDino023 Outplaying in fighting games kek
Fighting games when you're playing at a high level don't usually have any way to mechanically outplay someone, everyone should be on a relatively even playing field when it comes to mechanical skill aka inputs broadly speaking. Conditioning isn't what people consider to be outplaying either when using that term, and at a high level the game is about forcing your opponent to make a mistake and to avoid making them yourself, aka conditioning and 'mind games', which is such a broad term that it shouldn't even really be used in this sort of discussion. Mind games can be things such as conditioning, knowledge checks and even intentionally tilting your opponent, talking about mind games is a huge cop out when trying to have any actual dialogue about what makes a player good. Saying AngryBird's got mad mind games tells you nothing because that encompasses so many different skills you have to learn that it's like saying "McGregor has really good offense."
The opposite mindset you're talking about is the proper mindset to have generally speaking, people can and will play better than you, you will have off days, you will bad matches and that's fine too, but if you can't admit that someone is better than you, that you didn't know how to deal with a setup, that you didn't know something was safe on block-- that you made a mistake, that you could have done something differently/better and you instead refuse to learn from the mistakes you make, or are forced to make by your opponent then I'm afraid you're playing the wrong genre of games.
Fighting games are about self improvement, and having the mindset of "I won because I outplayed them" is an incredibly toxic way to think, it causes stagnation. Naturally I'll point out when someone does something smart, clever or unexpected, but I promise you that win or lose, you made mistakes that you can learn from and players who are so focused on their own fragile little egos don't look at a won match and pick apart what they could've done better.
Also related: The reason we're pushing for a FT10 format in tournaments-- And have been for YEARS across multiple fighting games is because the current formats don't give players enough opportunity to learn about their opponent and adapt, when a recognized top 5 player in the scene loses to some nobody I can guarantee you most of the time that wouldn't have been the case if we had the FT10 format, but with such a short, volatile tournament format it's much more likely for something like this to happen.
There's no shame in someone wanting to improve and recognizing they made a mistake, part of recognizing that mistake is learning what situation you were put in that caused you to make the wrong decision and how to better deal with it in the future.

This player is a good example of a LOT of the street fighter subreddit community. Tons of players post vids of a diamond or higher player making poor decisions or getting wrecked, followed by numerous comments from people saying how they do better at their (typically) lower rank. It's like when you hit certain ranks that people expect near perfect play. Even Daigo has been perfected on stage. Unless you're ending in Time Overs, one player at minimum is going to be making mistakes even when two top 8 level players face off. Everyone makes errors. Nice video. It was entertaining.

A player who always thinks he does everything well, does not see his mistakes and does not criticize himself, will never be a good player and will never be able to improve.

i actually really enjoy watching videos when a pro player breaks down what to do vs what not to do in certain situations. i don't care so much for the troll but would be cool to see how a player/character should and shouldn't do in matches

I really never thought I'd see the day where someone would hate on neph. Not only is he cracked at the game, hes so relaxed and chill and doesnt gloat about anything. People are weird man 😂

I mean Neph was bashed for character choice in SF5... (not that it's justified, just saying it's nothing new) after all, if ya got haters it means you've made it!
P.S. Also the hate was technically against Noah the Prodigy.

Proof that being a scrub is a mentality thing more than a skill thing. This dude is obviously good at street fighter, but if he stopped trying to act like he was better than everyone else and tried learning from the mistakes in his own gameplay he’d be a lot better.

  • @DoctorDarlingTTV

“idk imo I won but my dog was annoying me” is so funny on so many levels. Other than the obvious dog excuse I’m rolling at fucking “imo I won” like yeah the receipts say I lost but you know it’s just my opinion that I won.
Also JP (and Marisa tbh) players are the most carried players it’s insane I’ve seen the WILDEST variety in skill at all ranks for them mfs

If he plays Tekken, a single mistake can kill from full health, Street Fighter is pretty generous since you can’t be juggled on the ground. With that said, even the legends in Tekken makes mistakes and eats shit. Unless you’re a god or ultra instinct is on that day, you’ll have some fuck ups even if you’re not pressured.
