Elmer Bernstein ∙ The magnificent seven Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Alexander Prior, Dirigent SR Klassik am See 2022 - Independence Day Strandbad Losheim am See ∙ Samstag, 2. Juli 2022
You know, it really doesn't surprise me at all. Westerns are very popular in Germany, most likely because they know the story of the American West is like the story of the time of "Knights in Shining Armor," a unique time in history the like of which won't come again. And if the legend doesn't quite match the fact, so what? We all can dream, can't we? Oh yeah, those musicians get it all right! And it doesn't surprise me a New York City kid like Elmer Bernstein could write such stirring scores for Westerns, he got it too! What New York City kid wouldn't want to be a cowboy, at least once? (Either that or play for the Yankees! 🤩)
Energetic and exhilarating performance! I could truly picture the landscape of the mountains, sage brush, horses, cattle and the cowboys!! Hyah!! Hyah!! LOVE IT!! ❤ 🥰
I had enjoyed the movie and the great music, as a school boy in 1964 Subsequently a great moment of joy while witnessing live performance by Madras Police Band in Madras race club in 1995
Absolutely phenomenal i have this tune as my ring tone i am closer to my dad who is in spirit world ❤❤ i have actually watched how the film was put together and made it is really is phenomenal 💗❤
Yes, my parents took me, my older brother & sister to see it when we were growing up in San Francisco. I was about 6 years old at the time. It’s one of my favorite movies - I own a copy on DVD & have a CD of the soundtrack. It’s one of the greatest movie soundtracks in my opinion. I live in Los Angeles.
I saw the original movie when I was very young. My father loved Westerns. But I have lived all my life in and near New York City! I even tried to play this theme on the piano: th-cam.com/video/AtDN_-4TUKE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k44AnklQMEbIeQus
Currently 78, saw original many times over the years, and recently the remake. Great flick and music. More realistic due to the drop out of 4 vs the overwhelming odds.
I hope the stock the magnificent seven, will also last as long as the film music, did not see the film yet, grandiose composition of Bernstein,,🕎✡️🇮🇱🎶🎶🎶🎉😊
One wouldn’t expect a German orchestra to have the authentic flavour of the American West, but they succeed! Very good, indeed!

No, I saw it, when I was 15, and am still of the opinion that it is the greatest movie, western ever - and the music!!!
