I love your "dog gate" analogy. Thank you for making this video! I have had this mixer for years & forgot how to use it. This is a great overview. Going to watch the EQ video next. Cheers!
Andrew excellent demonstration of the super presonus 16:4:2 digital desk , yes its moving on in years now but honestly Its my first introduction to the digital desk era , very slow at first to move from passive , but best decision i have made , still getting familiar with all it has to offer , my reason im coming to you and I hope you get this and will spare a little for me to explain how I can record my shows onto my Zoom 4HN Recorder , right now i just manually record my shows but i want to be able just to connect directly to my desk , and I was wondering can I just use the 2 jacks main outs for this to get the sounds coming through the desk directly into the recorder ,and at the same time using the XLR main outs to my powered speakers , or do I connect though the aux sends , i also see 2 sets of phono's on the back ,usually these on other desks is out to rec and the other to playback , I appreciate any advice that you give , well done again on this demonstration really well explained , as i was saying yes this desk is old school but still its far better than anybof my previous passive desks , 😉👍
Depending on what you pay for it and what your application is. This one went in a church, and for the skill level of those operating it, it really fit the bill. But, the Gen 3 units have such significant advantages that I wouldn't go for this one unless you got a real discount.
Sorry, I no longer have access to this device to confirm questions such as this. I only was working at the church where I installed this for a few months as their Interim Pastor. But, I expect that it should be able to connect in that way. Part of the difficulty with that, though, is that it has become rare for newer computers to have firewire ports.
I've just bought a 16-4-2 and your tutorial was the easiest to follow, so thank you. I also love the dog gate analogy
Glad I was of some help :)

Yes, that one really works for me, too. Glad you liked it :)

Andrew Bellous very helpful, thank you. I see one listed now for about 700-750 and it’s an AI, hard to find
@@Tim_ArtistName_Tallent I updated my Mac over the years and now I cant use it for live mixing...
@@DannybFlat01 thank you, I think that is the general consensus, updates haven’t kept up rendering this useful for wireless applications .
Can this be recognized via firewire in newer versions of ableton?

How to plaug in cd line to presonu mixer
You can use a stereo separation cable, either stereo 1/8" to dual RCA or stereo 1/8" to dual mono 1/4"
