Tanner Holmes was impressive. He himself, may not think so. But from my perspective, he improved every time he was on the track! Showing up early before the 360 Nationals, having a former sprint car driver (Jon Agan), helping him w/ his knowledge of Knoxville Raceway helped greatly.
Tanner is young, and should have a good career ahead of him!
Agreed! Tanner is very young and to come from Cali where the tracks are not really comparable I think shows how well he has done.

Come on C. Mecedo your one of the most aggressive drivers on a speedway track. To say D. Gravel slid you hard, really, glass houses mate! I watch you throw aggressive sliders every WOO feature.
DG is the complete opposite, he annoys me when he's too nice on guys.
He just out raced you in my opinion, credit where credit is due. If you drove from 22nd to 2nd I'd be singing your praisers too!!

It really does seem that the compound hoosier use currently has taken away the ability for teams to make a real setup difference at the halfway point and come back strong, it seems as though this particular design and/or compound is just not as versatile compared to years prior.
It reminds me of F1, start on pole, finish in first and never really be challenged the whole race kinda deal.....and having to really drive to the tyre much more than before, the tyres need to be more workable.
I know its the same for everyone, and maybe im wrong considering gravels charge through the field.
However, its not me saying this, as seen in multiple interviews with the drivers, the common theme is, these tyres are difficult for them to read, in a nutshell.
The tyres are too hard/stiff, whether its construction or compound or both, the tyres are not giving off distinct recognisable feelings for which to respond to by the drivers. They have a tiny window to work in which is why some teams pushed the tyres limits with their chosen psi to gain more grip/response from the compound resulting in the tyre failures from top level drivers, it is not coincidental that at max load, they pop.
Not sure if there is a mandated minimum hot pressure.....
