    That would be due to the FACT you chose the "WRONG WIRE" to "HACK" your way into it !!!
    If you would have chose the wire that gets B+ to it when the switch is pressed then it would have worked the way you wanted it to .....
    But you just HACKED the wire up and then you did not even cut off the pushpin connectors that were on the end of the wires at the key switch ......
    If you chose to do a YT video instructing people how to install a keyed ignition switch then you might wanna do it the PROPER WAY .

    • @J-unit84
      @J-unit84 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea this is all wrong. You wanna cut power, not ground. And you would probably wanna get a handlebar mounted ignition and wire it to the controller through the frame to hide everything and make it look stock.

      You'd need to trace the wires to the on button solder to one of the buttons connections so when the key is twisted it would act also as a go single

  • @Birdofthewave

    Out of the 3 extra wires left, one of them need to join the black connection on the ignition connect to solve the lcd problem.... so when the switch is off, the lcd should be off too as the start button did.

      I kinda messed up with this. There is another power wire that goes directly to the screen. I would just cut that one instead. That way the screen should shut off when you turn the key and not the buttons that hook up to the screen.

    How well would this work if it was integrated into the roo part of the headtube, might be a bit fiddly to remove and spice the cables but if the bike has internally routed cables, it would make it look much more neat and permanent, prevent tampering and overall make it look like it was part of the bike from the start

    • @sebbyonyt

    • @ENDOPRYSMyt
      @ENDOPRYSMyt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can feel it on the road. less weight swinging at the rear of your bike makes it easier to control. Also a heavier motor can cause damage to your swing arm when you ride on any bumpy terrain. for my bike the motor stays very cool for the most part. Unless I take it up the mountain on a hot day then it tends to overheat. I’m gonna do some cooling upgrades to it so that doesn’t happen so easy,
      until then I’m just riding casually. For my friends bike I turned the power down until he gets some heat syncs and ferrofluid. Still probably won’t Even run it at full power when upgraded. But overall I just enjoy the lighter package.

    How to connect a key ignition to ANY ebike! That's quite a broad statement! Ok, so how do I connect my key ignition to the controller!? Not every ebike has a digital screen! And to be honest if you can't work out that a simple inline splice connection is how you install the key switch, you probably shouldn't be attempting to alter any of the electrics!?

    • @ENDOPRYSMyt
      @ENDOPRYSMyt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s very simple. You are connecting a on off switch (aka keyed ignition) to a wire that is necessary to the operation of turning on the bike. So every bike may not have a lcd screen but most every bike has a on/off button with a wire that leads from it to the controller. You are simply splicing that wire.
      I can make an updated video with an explanation to my thinking.

    • @fumanchutripitaka6639
      @fumanchutripitaka6639 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ENDOPRYSMyt Thank you for your reply, and apologies for being a bit harsh in my initial post it wasn't very fair so please don't take offence! My situation is a little more complicated so I will explain. I bought a conversion kit which I have fitted to my normal bike. The kit came with a twist throttle which has a on/off button built in. This all worked fine for a while but after about 3-4 months use it had a major tantrum and went on strike permanently! Hence, I needed to replace this and decided to get a thumb throttle which was cheaper and more basic which meant less to go wrong. However, the thumb throttle does not have an on/off switch it just has 3 wires the Red - Positive, Black - Negative and the Green Signal wire. Therefore, I can connect the throttle control but there won't be any power going to it. So, I need to make a connection via the controller to the throttle to send power to the motor! The initial problem is there are 6 wires coming from the original twist throttle and it is far from obvious which function each wire controls. But to make things worse I had to get a new controller which arrived with approximately NO English on it anywhere. Hence, I have absolutely no idea what any of the 4 million wires coming out of the controller are for! And whilst searching online for any information that may help, I have discovered that there isn't even a consistency in the wiring for different controllers! Consequently, I would really like to smash my ebike kit into to little pieces! But I have been reliably informed that doing that would not make it work any better!
      In conclusion, do not take any notice of the crazy man! But please do keep making the videos because they are good and obviously helping others to fix any problems they may be experiencing!
      All the Best

    • @ENDOPRYSMyt
      @ENDOPRYSMyt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very frustrating problem. I couldn’t tell you how to go about your controller issue as I have never had such a problem. If I had any suggestions it would be to contact the supplier directly and ask for some guidance. I sort of have a picture of your thumb throttle setup in my mind. I think you could splice into the red or black wire with the ignition and it should work. As long as the key is impairing the function of the bike in some certain way. It will make for a solid (temporary security system). By this I mean it will stop people that don’t have the key such as friends or maybe small kids from getting into the bike.
      Any keyed ignition including ones for cars can be broken into by any criminal if they had enough time.

      It's an ebike. NO startup sound. Basically, he cut the black cable (ground) and wired a switch (keyed) in between. When the key is in "OFF" position, the circuit is open and bike remains OFF. When the key is in "ON" position the circuit is closed but the bike is not ON, still remains OFF. The button still needs to be pressed to turn it ON.
      He added an extra step that is not really necessary but could be useful for keeping honest people honest. At the handlebar, its extremely easy to bypass this keyed switch. For simplicity, it works, but I would've done the connection in an area not easily accessible.
