Thanks for the mention, Cosmo. I was very surprised to find that my Jackery 500 has an MPPT controller. They obviously listened to their customers and changed that part. I can't imagine they would ruin their good name by lying about something like that, so I think my manual is correct. Also, it will run for 12 hours now instead of 6 hours if the draw is less than 10w. So one could run a USB fan all night without the unit shutting down. I'm really liking this Jackery brand. Can't wait to get a second one!
Cosmo! I took your advice and purchased the Clam. Took it from NC to Montana and back. Very usable and comfy! Lots of people asked me about it. Thanks for turning me on to it.

I have standardized all my camping accessories on those Anderson plugs, and I'm getting Vistabule to add them in on my new order. Much thanks to you for the details and inspiration on getting a Vistabule!
I have the 500. You almost NEVER fully deplete the battery. A couple of hours is what it really takes most of the time to top off. If I am winter car camping in the mountains where I have been below 0*F. by 10 to 15 degrees things get tough. It runs my cheapo electric 12V blanket stuffed in an ancient sleeping bag. A dual fuel camp stove (yes, windows cracked, and safety measures in place like a high tech heat shield made of Tactical Aluminum Foil that doubles as head protection when aliens are about.....🤪) etc. At minus 10* F you will have a “rough” night. A hassle supreme to get up to take care of nature when it’s that cold but I like the challenge! The modern technology is a Shazam development. I’m as old as you Cosmo! Really like your vids and been a very long time sub. Thanks!
Nice JM I admire your cold weather tenacity! I agree on answering the call of nature on a cold night. I am able to numb my brain and do the job until I get back to the sleeping bag where I allow myself to feel the cold/ I rarely drin my 500 too. It seems to work really well and top off very well on solar. I will be getting out more this winter. Thanks for watching =Como
Great info Cosmo and very timely too! Chris and I will soon be Jackery owners -- we are trying to decide which one to get... Now they have a 300w with an MPPT controller ... I think the 300 or 500 would serve us well, but for our 750/1500w ceramic heater, we would need the 1000... (If we run the heater on low) So... decisions, decisions =) ... Thanks for this update... Jackery found a great ambassador in you! ~ Maria
Cosmo Weems - Thanks Cosmo! We actually just splurged a little and ordered their new 300w with an MPPT controller. They have a $50 off code and there’s no tax if you order directly from Jackery. It has all the USBs, 12v, and two outlets. This should serve us well for a while. For help with heat, we figured that an electric blanket only draws between 15 and 75w depending on the temp setting - so the jackery will help provide a little warmth in the late fall - and then hope for some shore power if we camp in the cold months so that we can use our heater. Promised Land State Park has a few electric sites they keep open all year long. I’m looking to try winter camping. Take care =) ~ Maria
I get offers to review other makers similar power stations. Their customer service capability is so terrible I wont review the product. Jackery is the exception. While not magicians they do a great job on the engineering and support side. I use my 240 and 300 and 500 a lot. The best combination for me is to take either the 240 or 300 and a 500. Great video Cosmo, I am in the process of designing a tear drop was wondering if you can get a jackery in the under floor storage. Not sure how deep they are and how long the storage is. Stay safe and thank you.

I thought the Jackery 240 would only accept 42Watts of solar no matter how large the panel (up to 30V).
