- Backpacking from Pittsburgh to DC
for this adventure we set out to ride our bikes from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Washington, DC on the GAP and C+O canal. The gap was filled with lots of urban sections with lots of amenities along the way. lots of hotels, restaurants, breweries and just some nice small towns. we started in Pittsburgh on the gap and rode all the way up and over the continental divide to end up in Cumberland, Maryland where we started the C+O canal trail. this trail is not as well maintained as the gap but still very beautiful and definitely not a bad ride. after riding through all the small towns into our hotels and restaurants and everything else we did, we ended up just around 500 miles in 5 days.
gear used on this trip

Oveja Negra front loader bag and frame bag
Apidura saddle bag
Tarptent rainbow
paria outdoors XL recharge sleep pad

I like your videos because you don't overcomplicate things. Bikes brews bros
Thanks! I'm it's all about having fun
I think I took shelter in that exact same spot coming back from Connellsville to Ohiopyle! lol Thanks for the video. It looked like fun for sure
I like this video because it actually shows the struggle. Yall powered thru tho! 👍🏾
This is a great video. It actually shows more details including the rain, the mud, the bike gears that don't shift , the lost tent pole, etc. These are the kind of things we want to know before getting on the trail. Thanks.
Great time Josh! Really enjoyed this video. Did the pull 2 years ago and planning for another one this summer. Cheers.😅
Great video! That was a blast, definitely my favorite trip this year.
Definitely a good time! Ready for the next adventure
Watched this this morning, you are amazing! Great video and narrative.

Well done! Doing this trail end of the month and looking forward to it!

great video!!!! a friend and I just did our first bike camping trip from Kansas City to St Louis , partially via Katy Trail,,also using Amtrak for our shuttle from and to Chicago. Hoping to do this trip next summer! thanks for all the pointers in your video!!!
Looks like an amazing trip ❤🎉
Man, I wanna go on the next one!
Epic trip man! I can't even imagine the monkey butt from all that rain...😂
Thanks man, it was a fun trip! The chaffing was a real problem 😂
Great video !
I love my giant revolt avdance 2. Try the redshift stem for more comfort on long rides...makes a huge differance
Thanks to TH-cam's algorithm, I was suggested this video. It looks like you were on the trail around the same time I was (19-23 Sep 2023) th-cam.com/video/MxQDvGzaaZs/w-d-xo.html. On my first thru-ride I had the same limestone mess on my bike just like you did. I decided to go with fenders, which are great to prevent that, but come with other challenges. Keep up the good work and hope to see you on the trails!
Thank you! The trail was great. Had a blast doing it. That was the same time!
