- G'day guys, today we are reacting to Voctave The Impossible Dream. This was a great performance of this song, this vocal group works well together and the harmonies was great and they nailed this song. I can't wait to delve more into Voctave, especially some Christmas tunes.

there is one that they have kirstie in called disney love medley. that was the first song that introduced me to that group
Voctave is an 11-member a cappella group from the Central Florida area. They sing at Walt Disney professionally, and have STRONG barbershop roots, though that's not ALL they do :) They are absolutely MIND-BLOWING! Tiffany Coburn is the lead for this, and one of their sopranos. The other is Kate Lott-- you'll hear her in just about everything hitting some wildly 'up there' notes! My personal favorite is EJ Cardona :) Please do more, you won't regret it!
My personal definition: In robes, on risers...they're a Chamber Choir. In civilian clothes and on flat ground.....they're an 'Ensemble'. I guess. Either way...the Absolute Finest in ACapella music!
Disney princess medley is epic and always gets me teary. When you decide to do their Christmas music, Mary Did You Know is a must. Mark Lowry sings with them. He wrote the words for the song. Absolutely amazing.

When you decide to take a look at "Disney Love Medley" with Kirsten and her then-boyfriend/fiancee Jeremy, there is also a two-minute clip from their practicing session with Voctave when they heard Kate Lott (the higher soprano) for the first time. I like "Disney Princess Medley" and "Great Movie Medley" but my absolute favorite is their version of "Mary Did You Know" with the song writer Mark Lowry singing the lead. Kate will blow your socks off in all of them.

Awesome vid! I think you would love Tedeschi Trucks Band, their lead singer is like a female version of Stevie Ray or Joe Cocker, Midnight in Harlem and Do I Look Worried are good starters, cheers!

Don't call them Hendecatonix. They hate that. You should see the Disney Love Medley they did with Kirstin and her beau at the time (since split up). It was unarguably the video that put Voctave on the map. It has something like 25-30M views. Deservedly. Also check out Carol of the Bells of Notre Damn and their collab on A Million Dreams with Vocal Majority.

Voctave is great. This is actually one of my least favorite performances of theirs. Watch Disney Love Medley featuring Kirstie from PTX singing the lead. That performance really shows off Kirstie’s solo talent and the incredible talent of Voctave. Kate Lott, the other soprano, hits some insane notes in that one.

O. M. G. I didn’t think your channel could get any better. I have so much love for Voctave. In February of 2019, I drove 8 hours to hear them live. I simply had to hear it live for myself and see if this was as amazing as it sounds on video. It’s not. IT’S BETTER. Voctave performed an amazing concert in the chapel of Rollins College along with the Bach Festival Orchestra. Seeing and hearing them was mind blowing. What you hear in their recordings (which I hope you will continue to explore) is exactly as they sound in real life. The are stunningly talented musicians and vocalists.

So glad you've got to Voctave. My favourite is 'O Come All Ye Faithful'. EJ takes the lead and shows some amazing breath control and dynamics. You could also react to them with Mark Lowry, 'Mary, Did You Know'. Magnificent.

This group does a lot of Disney things so think of that when listening. now they have some other things but that is the kind of thing they are best suited for!

Glad you have started reacting to Voctave, although this is an unusual introduction to the group. One thing, though--the name of the group rhymes with the *American* pronunciation of "octave", so it's VOC-tiv, with a schwa in the second syllable, rather than the British/Australian long a (like give, rather than save). At the end of their "Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame" mashup, EJ Cardona says the name of the group, FWIW.
I had recommended a bunch of their Christmas songs for "Christmas in April", but it's now May, so that won't happen. (grin) I'll also go along with the crowd and recommend the Disney Love Medley (featuring Kirstie Maldonado and Jeremy Michael Lewis) and the Disney Princess Medley (in which each of the woman in the group get a solo for a different Princess--Snow White, Aurora (from "Sleeping Beauty"), Ariel (from "The Little Mermaid"), Mulan, and Pocahontas. The basses get their star turn in "You're a Mean One, Mister Grinch", and the Disney Showstoppers medley features two of the tenors. You can hear the third one, Tony De Rosa, in "One Million Dreams" (with Vocal Majority). They are all super talented, and to have that much talent together in a group is an unexpectedly wonderful find.
Oh boy! I like Voctave. The Disney Love Medley, Mary Did You Know, Disney Showstoppers & Great Movie Medley are among my favorites. Kate is a fierce Soprano and she just knocks me off my feet (especially in the Tarzan Movie theme portion of the Disney Love Medley. She holds a high note for what feels like forever.)
I would not have chosen this song as an intro to Voctave. They are amazing at everything they do, but they are Disney specialists. So I'd go there next. There are 2 Disney medleys. Maybe try the one with Kirstin Maldanado from Pentatonix since she is familiar to you. The other Disney medley is great bc different members of Voctave get solos so you get to 'meet' them vocally.
Amazing voices in a more pure a Capella style as opposed to the vocal band style of both Pentatonix and Home Free. Their "Great Movie Medly" is my favorite but all in all I personally prefer the vocal band style a bit more.

This group is so amazing. One of the things I love so much is while the sopranos have extremely high notes, they do not sound like they are just screaming a note out. It's pure vocal control. Same when their bass gets real low. It's a pure clean tone! I just love them!
