Came here because I had couldn't figure out how to adjust the H size. After watching your video I went to hit the like button and discovered that I already had from who knows how many years ago lol!
@bigun89 Sounds like you might have a bad potentiometer. Try replacing it to see if it makes a difference. If the problem continues then check the Horizontal Width Coil and the polypropylene capacitors around it. Bob Roberts sells a Horizontal Width Kit that might help you out with this issue as well. We have also featured your question on episode 11 of our Q&A podcast. Please listen to it for more of our thoughts on your question. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
I have a question. My vertical size isn't getting large enough to fill the screen after I've replaced the tube. The vertical coil was off by 3.3 ohms in resistance. How do I get the vertical screen size to get bigger than what the potentiometer is allowing?
I can't seem to find a H.Hold pot on my chassis... Is there something else that I could look for that might control horizontal hold? (I have a flickering problem that might not be fixed by degaussing, I'll find out soon when my degaussing coil arrives.)
I have a question, actually when i turn on the Arcade the image on the monitor is small, after a few minutes, the images gets bigger, and the top a button part of image is getting cut slowly. Do you know what might be the cause of this?
Kyle S, try running the chassis for a while and see if it helps. Sometimes the heat off the chassis will help loosen it. You can also try desoldering and adjusting it outside of the monitor (top and bottom). We've also had luck using silicone on them. You can use WD-40 but be sure to rinse with soap/water and let dry. Also, we will be covering your question on Live Show Episode 50 on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 5:30 PM CT. @@arcaderepairtips thanks, yeah I tried everything and seems the coil is seized.Tried that tip you said with keeping the arcade running.Got ahold of arcadecup and looking for a replacement. my width coil looks different but I know its the right thing cause theres a diagram on the side of the monitor for the weells gardner 19k7610.Thansg again.
Hey! Thanks so much for this (and all the other!) arcade repair videos. Recently started exploring and they've been invaluable! I've also got a horizontal width issue, the image extends around 2cm (2/3 of an inch) on either side, even with the hor.width pot adjusted all the way. So the next thing to try is certainly the coil. However, my coil seems to have a little black seal close to the top, above the place where the screw is meant to be. I thought I'd ask here before trying to try it off... Do I just peel it off? Or is something else going on here? Here's a photo of it: bit.ly/3l1gcOU Thanks!!!
@@manjin0409 i have this board on an OK BABY cabinet. if you see the board picture carefuly there is a ponteciometer on the left of your screen. VR101. this might fix this issue.
Never, Never, Never adjust the width coil with a metal allen wrench guys... Even if you manage to avoid touching any part of the circut... you will crack or damage the magnetic material inside the width coil....... The rest of the video is okay...
I learned something new. Thanks!
Thanks !! i spend days searching how to adjust the horizontal width ToT THNXS

I have a question.

I did that you said but appeared a rare line when I press some button , what is the reason?

How do we adjust the width if we already tried the remote board and there is a cap inside the width coil so that it can't be adjusted?
Mine is Frozen, any idea how to fix it? I broke my plastic tool and tried a metal unit but I was afraid of cracking it.
My monitor is to far to the right, will this help? Or is that a bad cap?
My weiya chassis have this coil but it dont have a screw to move, Iam right or i dont know how to do this
so what tool is the correct one to use?..a flat head screw driver or an allen wrench??

Replace all the electrolytic caps first been 5 years since you posted this so probably fixed it but figured if someone else comes here looks at this.
my horizontal coil is like stuck, I cant get it to turn any way.I even bought a adjustment tool set like yours and still nothing.

How are you supposed to do this with the monitor in the way? The tool is too long :(
alguien sabe como se llama esa pieza que tiene cobre expuesto?
En inglés se llama horizontal width coil.
