From Keith Jones Christian session drummer in the North Devon area for many years, now retired to Bude Cornwall. Enjoyed reading your book Clem from a top top player, with so many hits you have been on. The book was a good read. You have been well blessed with your life's work. Take care, thanks for the sound track to our lives over these many years. May God Bless you and your family each day. Shalom to you all. God Bless, take care (K.J.). Like you recorded with folk musicians, rock and pop musician writers, recorded with female singers with jazz and Christian groups as well and with various members of Hawkwind.

I’d forgotten that “Save Your Love” was one of the songs Clem played on. Renato was such a lovely bloke, he wanted to buy Aston Villa FC at one point.

Thanks Des, really enthralled by this wonderful interview and what a top, top drummer, so impressive.
Think he got a No.5 in the UK Charts with Pickettywitch and ''That Same Old Feeling'' early 1970.

"I`m not a musician - I`m a drummer!" - what a lovely character! Clem Cattini played on 42 Nr 1 Hits in the UK, amongst them Rock`n`Roll classics like "Shakin`all over", "Telstar", "The Sun ain`t gonna shine anymore" and "Something in the Air". In the end Clem enjoyed session work more than being constantly on the road. Became part of the inner circle of session cracks along with guitarrists "Big" Jim Sullivan and "Little" Jimmy Page; John Paul Jones on bass and drummers Bobby Graham and Tony Meehan. It seems incredible buit true: politely Clem urned down offers to be part of bands that became Led Zeppelin and Wings! Here``s only the No 1 Hits:
1)"Shaking All Over" Johnny Kidd & The Pirates,
2/ "Well I Ask You" Eden Kane,
    3/ "Come Outside" Mike Sarne,
    4/ "Telstar" The Tornados,
    5/ "Diane" The Bachelors,
6/ "Make It Easy On Yourself" The Walker Brothers,
    7/ "Tears" Ken Dodd,
8/ "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" The Walker Brothers,
9/ "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" Dusty Springfield,
10/ "Out Of Time" Chris Farlowe,
11/ "Green Green Grass Of Home" Tom Jones,
    12/ "Release Me" Engelbert Humperdinck,
13/ "The Last Waltz" Engelbert Humperdinck,
14/ "Ballad Of Bonnie & Clyde" Georgie Fame,
15/ "Everlasting Love" The Love Affair,
16/ "Cinderella Rockefella" Esther & Abi Ofarim,
    17/ "I Pretend" Des O'Connor, 1
18/ "Where Do You Go To My Lovely" Peter Sarstedt,
19/ "Something In The Air" Thunderclap Newman,

@@destongTV thanks he brings up a point i have heard from a couple of people who played for Motown about not know the names of songs when they were playing them or the titles got changed later on. he was blessed having two drum kit. reading Bobbys book-that was insane what he used to go through going from one gig to another and having to set up his own drums. I remember Hal Blaine finally hired someone to do his for him
