    Thanks 4 supporting Taiwan tourism. It looks like you got lots of rain. I guess food inflation has hit their night market too, as that pepper baked bun was $40 NT when we visited in 2009, but at $60 it’s still cheaper and way better than North America McDonalds or Burger King at $5+ without cheese. Take care and have a great 2023.

    • @topj10
      @topj10  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome and thanks for watching! Yes, the weather that time is light showers. I hope that the quality is not different from when you had at 2009. hehe Yes the pork bun is way tastier and cheaper than burgers because of the pepper and chives. Same with you, have a great 2023

    I love how you put the peso equivalents to the costs and the google map names of the locations you visited. My husband and I plan to visit this coming Feb and your videos are very helpful. 🙏🏻 May I please know if the google map bus ride routes and stations are accurate? Thank you!

    • @topj10
      @topj10  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and appreciating! That's nice, the weather in February is a lot cooler. Yes, we based our transportation via Google Maps and it is very accurate, with routes and fares. Avail their EasyCard (Beep Card) for faster fare transactions. There will be route choices where it's cheaper but would take a little longer, and there will cost more but it's faster. There will also be a LOT of walking going to your bus and train stations, but the weather and sidewalks are nice so you wouldn't mind the distance. Enjoy your trip!

      You're welcome and thanks for watching! Taiwan is a wonderful place to explore! We haven't tried it yet since we're already full eating other snacks. We passed by some stalls and it smells from a mile away. :) (kidding) But we'll definitely try it in our next visit.

      It depends since you can haggle naman, but the deal we had was like buy 12 + 1 free. Yes! We bought those since we can't find one anywhere, it's a unique keychain.

    Do you still need to self quarantine? Planning to go to taiwan next month

    • @topj10
      @topj10  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mandatory self quarantine upon arrival is not required. But if you use the self-test kit given at the airport upon arriving at your hotel, and tested positive, you need to report it and have self quarantined.

    Word of advice:
    1. Do not go there during Chinese New Year. The crowd with foreign and domestic tourists will swarm you coupled with the very narrow alley ways can get very stressful.
    2. Check the weather proper before going. On a rainy day, it is almost impossible to find shelters other than the convenience shops or go to find a food stall that no one goes in. It can make one very miserable walking under the rain with the many open umbrellas hitting each other.
    My wife and I was there on the rainy second day of Chinese New Year was a very unpleasant experience.

    Can u recommend cheap hotel or airbnd?

    • @topj10
      @topj10  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello thanks for watching! We booked via Agoda app for flight + hotel.
      For example, a trip next month for 3 days and 2 nights may cost 20k PHP/ person in City Suites Nandong (The hotel we stayed)
      Some popular hotels like Caesar Metro Taipei - 23k PHP, Taipei Garden Hotel - 26k PHP
      So the price range would be 20k-25k without tax. I'm not sure with Airbnb since I haven't tried searching for one.

    Is it cold there? I wanna experience the breathe vapor. Yung umuusok ung bibig pag nag sasalita kagaya sa TV ung sa mga malalamig na lugar. Ganun din ba kalamig dyan?

    • @topj10
      @topj10  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! We visited around October, so the weather is cool but not too cold. I think by December or January the weather will be much colder. I'm not sure if you can breath with visible vapor coming out of your mouth.

    Very informative! :) May I ask where did you exchange PHP to NTD? and if the stores in arrival area are open 24 hours? We will arrived by 1am kasi hehe

    • @topj10
      @topj10  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello thanks for watching! So we exchanged our currency in PH prior to our flight. The buying rate that time is 1.95 PHP = 1 NTD. Some fast food stores are close, but there are convenience stores inside and outside that are 24hr open :) As far as I know, the only transpo available at 1am is Taxi and uber since MRT and Bus operations is offline that time

      Hi thanks for watching, we stayed in City Suites Taipei Nandong, it's relatively near to our itineraries like Raohe Night Market and Taipei 101. We booked flight + hotel via Agoda.
