Glad I brought my son Josh up on this genre. For all of you old school guys out there, you would ALL APPRECIATE his taste. He's 31 now and goes to every show of the thrash, death, hardcore metal and so on and so on up and down the East coast. Watching him now in the pits brings me back and makes me PROUD!!! when we attend shows together. GREAT SHIT!!!
Thanks brother, means the world to me that we share the same taste. Nothing better than crankin' up a cassette, yes I said cassette, in my truck and going on a backroad METAL RIDE with my kid. And thank you brother for having such a REAL CHANNEL, keep up the GREAT WORK!!!@@shalo6669
I think it's safe to say that his late partner in crime, Jeff Hanneman, would be super proud that Kerry continues to write within the realm of SLAYER!!! The greatest and most recognizable RIFF band in the HISTORY of THRASH!!!
Agreed. To me it's inspiring to want to play thrash at 60 yrs old. In short, I like that the thrash vets can tour and people show up and they can make a living sort of. Ha
Well said brother, born in "67" I personally have been EXTREMELY FORTUNATE to have seen ALL of the greats back in the day. The one that stands out most, Overkill, on Taking over tour, opening for Slayer on Reign in blood in a small club named the Living Room in Providence, RI. FUCKIN' MENTAL!!! UNFORGETTABLE ERA in METAL!!! You have a great channel bro, keep up the great work.@@shalo6669
Hey brother. Thanks for the what's up. Yeah, never been to SB. Been to San Diego and San Clemente a bunch of times. Never made it up there yet. One day. Later bruh.
Great review, I think your assessment is spot on. I’m anxious to hear the rest of the record. Mark’s a fantastic singer and I think he’ll be way better than Phil. I’m also shocked on how they kept the members a secret for so long?
appreciate your review, and don't want to be that guy, but the background music made me close all my other web browser tabs thinking something was bleeding over it was so annoying
It's basically what Slayer did for the last 25 years. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing special, just standard everything. Slayer had their pinnacle with Reign, South and Seasons. After that, it went downwards. And that's from where King goes onward.
Fair comments bro, there's a bit of hate out there for it. Vox are great, dude out of Vio-Lence loves his craft for sho'. Not much different to Repentless at all, not a bad thing ..
Yeah I noticed the comments started to go negative. He should have called the band a real name considering the caliber of the members. It's what I expected bro.
I like it better than anything they did on the last two albums. I always respected Slayer for sounding the same on their later albums. At least they didn't cut their hair & start swallowing Loads like Metallica did.
I liked your take, I think the vocals are great minus that building preverse.. sounds very similar to God hates us all era stuff. The riffs sounded like late Metallica stuff, pretty robotic. I do like Bostaphs style although I know he isn't Lombardo. The worst part is the band name, there are other members with greater talent. My biggest wonder is if Kerry wrote all the lyrics on the album, even if it's Repentless 2.0 it could be interesting with a different vocal take and dynamic
Yeah man. I agree with all this. Kerry's lyrics are pretty stock. I'm positive Kerry wrote the lyrics. He's been dumbing down his vocabulary, lyrically, for 25 years. Paul sounds great I agree. Yeah band name is disrespectful almost but those dudes are all on board so if they're cool, I'm good.
The only good thing about it is that he’s totally owning it by putting his name on it. Thank god he decided not to name the band after a Slayer album title, song title, or whatever. It’s totally generic thrash with totally generic modern production and it pisses me off that Mark signed up to ape Tom’s vocal style as closely as possible. People are calling this “Slayer 2.0,” but it’s a watered-down Slayer knockoff, like the new “Pantera.” Slayer was done when Jeff passed away.
It's hard for me to expect a Kerry King's song that's different to Slayer. The guy is slayer always been slayer so why I should expect something different to slayer?. If papa Het left Metallica and his new song is similar to nirvana, shit that would be scary
Slayer never sold out like some metalic bands did just to survive the 90s grunge takeover. Thats enough for me. There are many decent metal bands that came after, but for me, i respect staying with your roots and suffering thru the hard times a lot more than re inventing yourself just to make money. What do i know?
I think its overproduced ,devoid of memorable riffs ,and lyricaly lazy ...everything I expected from the least talented member of slayer ...huray he's not a quitter ,just too bad slayers memorable and ledgendary music died with Jeff ...R.I.P.
If the drums could just not sound so goddamn GENERIC!!!! Everything sounds the same today. Like some homerecording made by a 17-yearold. The music is cool and the singer kicks major ass. Maybe its just me. I am a old fart.
The drums are really weak. I never liked Bostaph from his work with Forbidden to Slayer, he's just a dittohead generic metal drummer who lacks the flare and finesse of Dave. It sounds like a drum machine. Like its digitally overwritten. I hate these synthetic modern thrash drums. If you wanna hear what real drums should sound like listen to Hell Awaits their best album. This is pretty generic thrash with Phil from Vio-Lence a generic thrash band from SF on lead guitar. Mark's vocals are ok. I prefer Sean of Vio-Lence who's much more distinctive. He's running a one man band now with no original members!

It's has to be so awesome. Love to see younger people getting into real metal.

Great to see Kerry is back on stage. The albums sounds great. Thx for sharing the word.
This was always basically going to be slayer 2.0 and im here for it.
I agree about Repentless, but I really like the World Painted Blood album.
Yeah same here
Repentless é só um álbum diferente, igual Diabolous in Musica
World Painted Blood é um dos meus álbuns preferidos do slayer
"Low hangin' fruit. Let's talk about it". 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sounds like every Slayer Album and Song ever made...Great Job!!
You’re joking, right? 😂

I dig it. It's basically what I expected. I like the band Kerry's assembled. Mark sounds great on vocals.
Yes. Agree with that totally
Whats up homie? Grew up in West Chester back in the 80's now in Santa Barbara, CA for a while. Just wanted to say what up to PA
Hey brother. Thanks for the what's up. Yeah, never been to SB. Been to San Diego and San Clemente a bunch of times. Never made it up there yet. One day. Later bruh.

I was saying the same thing to my buddy at work. 😂😂😂 Yeah I wasnt too stoked on Phil. Mark is the guy. Thanks for the comment.
Mark was the absolute right choice, hands down!
Mark is spot on. I know Gary is busy with Exodus but I wish he was in the band.
appreciate your review, and don't want to be that guy, but the background music made me close all my other web browser tabs thinking something was bleeding over it was so annoying
Thanks bruh. Appreciate it. Didn't realize it bothered people.
Killer drumming!
ABSOLUFUKINLUTLY KILLER!!!🤘 KERRY KING RULES!💀GLAD HE'S STILL DOING HIS THING AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW STUFF SOON!!!😎
Really digging Mark's vocals. Bridge riff IA cool. Has energy. Paul sounds tight. Good stuff
I think everyone should stop dissing KK until you hear the entire record!
Agreed. Stop shitting on the legends that still create shit. Go pick on something else.
It's basically what Slayer did for the last 25 years. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing special, just standard everything. Slayer had their pinnacle with Reign, South and Seasons. After that, it went downwards. And that's from where King goes onward.
Yeah agree to most of that. I still check the shit out tho.
I think the new vocalist sounds how Kerry wishes Tom sounded...almost just like Tom but just a tinge more aggressive.
Yeah, Mark still has a youth charisma to his voice even though he's in his mid 50s.
How many cds you own
Haha I don't know bro. The funny thing is I havnt bought many since 2005 or so. Most if these are 80s and 90s.
Divine Intervention was the last great Slayer album.IMO.
I don't understand why people think it sucks. It's totally vicious.
Agreed. I've liked Slayer songs here and there since but Divine Intervention is the last great Slayer album.
@@shalo6669 Dittohead DESTROYS 🤘

I like it, it's good! ''Do the Devil's work.''
Everything Slayer related is a god thing.
Nah Slayer are overrated.
Megadeth were and still are much better.
Kerry King is a douchebag
Weirdly the single reminded me of mid to late 2000s exodus, can’t place exactly why though
Maybe the guitar sound is a little crisper like Holts

Shoulda called it Captor of Sin.
Yeah that's a killer song, killer name
I hadn't heard this till you showed me. It's alright. Not my cup of tea, though.
I like my coffee early in the morning fuelled with c**aine too

Please know how to pronounce Mark’s last name. He’s historic.
They should have had Rob Dukes to sing / shout.
rob or mark are both very good
I find it Mediocre!
Same.
It sounds like Repentles.
@@Jzsons Probably a song that did not make the album! 🤘
I was bored by it.. not bad but nothing I want to listen to again
It sounds like Slayer 😅

Yeah I'm happy these older guys are still doing it man. I'm mean 60 yrs old and making this music is cool in my book.
He should of given the band an actual name, his band mates are no chumps themselves
Agreed
That is because Kerry thinks he is God's gift too Thrash Metal.
I love it and can't understand the hate
It will be cool to hear Mark sing the Slayer songs live...
I don't know what everyone is listening to but this song is not good. The guitar is thin and bouncy just like on World Painted Blood.
Haters gotta hate
Eu daria uma nota de 7/10 pra essa música
Yeah 7/10 I agree
10 out 7 which is not possible so it gets a 0
I think its overproduced ,devoid of memorable riffs ,and lyricaly lazy ...everything I expected from the least talented member of slayer ...huray he's not a quitter ,just too bad slayers memorable and ledgendary music died with Jeff ...R.I.P.
Pretty much agree with all that
If the drums could just not sound so goddamn GENERIC!!!! Everything sounds the same today. Like some homerecording made by a 17-yearold. The music is cool and the singer kicks major ass.
Maybe its just me. I am a old fart.
Agree. Bands need live acoustic drum sounds. 🥁
Duuuude turn off the background music!!!
No shit it's distracting!
Slayer 2.0
👍🏽Subbed NYC

That's how I feel about it
Im in johnstown...winter sucks ass!
Lehigh Valley here bruh. Yeah
@@shalo6669 brace yourself this week!
Meh.
The vocals make it mediocre
watered down slayer
I find the vocals more close to Divine Intervention era Tom Araya. Other than that nothing special here, the riffs, the solos are generic af.
Yeah. I think Demmels solo is cool. Kerry's is totally phoned in. Mark does sound extra aggro.
No.Completely forgettable.
sucks sorry ...
Nice. Hahahaha
SUCKS
sounds nothing like slayer
