    This huge pattern looks so nice for pumping out a bunch of flied ties quickly, definitely gonna try it out!

    Fantastic straightforward fly, and thanks for the tip on the marabou differences. Always wonder why some bags looked like crap.

    That thing really does look like a little damselfly nymph if you tie it small and sparse! I'll have to try that. Thanks Ben.

    I had a great afternoon fly fishing with my 12 year old daughter...until we discovered what leeches were (after looking at our legs). I was then excited to fish a leech pattern. She was less excited. Lol!
    Can’t wait to try this pattern!

    I tied this pattern one day while just using up leftover Maribou. Drifted it through a hole on the lower flats on the Juan. Nailed three in one hole.

    Been tying these for forty years. I don't use any wire. I fish Utah /Wyoming /Idaho lakes. I don't use any other subsurface fly. Hot Orange and Olive are the only colors you need. Tight lines.

    Large or small a black (zonker) leach has been my most productive fly on largemouth and perch, but marabou is just as productive. Dedeaux Snake and Poppers produce my largest though. I just picked up a Huge truck load of trash…time to go cast a leach fly! 👍🎣 Love your dog, he’s ready to chase the ball. 🙂 Great laugh at you moonin the train.😂 Thanks Huge one!

    The pink version can be dead drifted for steelhead or salmon, going to try that this weekend.

    what rod do you use for the leeches? What leader? What tippet?

  • @MarcTelesha
    @MarcTelesha 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Counter wrap the feather that way the wire is easier to secure to the hook and when you tighted it tightens the wire not push the wire away..

    Whats your opinion on foam flies in general can you say something about efficiency and effectiveness, for me it would be a HUGE thing because i like them but not very effective with them. Mostly for bass like fishes.

    • @briantalbot7929
      @briantalbot7929 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For bass? Just use wooly buggers in sizes 4-12

    So this is a small schwimnow By Norm Ziegler that got the lead eyes replaced with lead wire 🤔 and called a leach .

    Easy tie to fly, no doubt. A little surprised at the lead wire in place of lead-free tho. No judgement, just a little surprised. Keep ‘em coming!

      Actually lead in this form isn't bad. Even if ingested, it does not stay in the body long enough to be absorbed before excretion. It's the pulverized lead like that in paint that's harmful.

  • @tylerbartnick6286
    @tylerbartnick6286 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bruh... Lead? You need to switch to lead-free yesterday.
