Foreshadowing
That first half of the battle is survival horror at its finest. Trapped in a confined and unstable area with an absolute monstrosity that cannot be killed (yet) and is dead-set on hunting you down and finishing you off for good.
Not gonna lie this was one of those fights where u had adrenaline rush while trapped with U3 not to mention with the timer.
That’s some intense horror boss fight

It’s always funny to me how in these games, doors automatically lock you in when there’s a boss present and only open after you kill it. Didn’t know murder activated doors exist 😂

This thing was my first time experiencing resident evil. Watching my Uncle fight this thing, keeping it a secret from my Mom. Good times.
I remember watching my older brother play this part when I was about 6 or 7 & holy hell was it a fucking nightmare to witness.

0:20 It isn't just the fact that his inventory is well organized. Anyone can do that if they're patient. What gets me is that he has *16* full health restorations there, 8 of which are Health Sprays, and 6 of them are 3 green herb mixes. Does he even get hit in RE4 anymore?

U-3 had one of the coolest monster designs in the game. Also, the first phase of his fight was one of the most intense "edge of your seat" sequences in RE4. It's a shame they cut him out in the remake, not sure what was Capcom thinking (the remake is good but some parts like this and the cage match with Garrador are definitely missed).
I read he will be in adas quest separate ways as a boss fight as he is now the black vergudo
There's an ongoing rumor that heavily suggest they're saving U-3 for Separate Ways along with Salazar's other hencemen (since he didn't merge with him for Salazar's fboss battle)

It’s hard to believe this game came out in 2005 and production started in 1999 got damn this game aged well. I’m not sure if we need a remake yet this game still look pretty good to me
The gameplay is a bit on the clunky side to be honest, I am replaying this game right now, it is still a fun game but some parts I feel a bit dated. So maybe a year after the release of RE8.
No need to remake it.

@Rick Ross the game still has plenty of additions and any cut content only serves to tighten the pacing, even if the remake is longer than the original. It's not lazy.
@@Vixen5290_ the things the remake added aren't worth cutting a whole boss sequence imo. Mostly just made some areas bigger and take longer to explore which I felt was bloated and hurt the pacing rather then helped. But hey agree to disagree the game was still good.

Either they’re couldn’t program it
1. To maybe put him in Ada's separate ways DLC so it'd more unique and different compare to the main campaign as it makes no sense and felt lazy that two characters fight the same boss in different campaigns. It'd make sense that only one of them fight the boss.
2. To make the island pacing much better as the island pacing in the original felt too dragging and not fun at all since there was too much stuff that felt like shouldn't be there and kept in somewhere else including the addition of this boss and they might just couldn't find a way to pace the area better and enjoyable without removing the boss completely.
3. You'd have to fight Krauser right after this one which makes the pacing on the island rushed and such a mess.
Even though I loved the boss as it looked terrifying, I completely forgot it even existed until the cut content video, which kinda made him forgettable for few people including me. And if removing him is the only way to make the island area pacing way better and enjoyable than the original only to put him back in separate ways campaign later, then it's definitely a needed change for me.
About that...
This fight in RE4 remake separate ways was honestly a little underwhelming. Why the hell did they cut the cage section? That was the best part of it.

If fans are going to criticize the RE3 remake for removing content, they need to be consistent and criticize the RE4 remake for removing this great boss battle. Now if the U3 actually does appear in the Separate Ways DLC as many have speculated, I'll retract what I said. But until we get confirmation on that, there was absolutely no reason to remove U3 from the main campaign.
you know they won't. Heck they removed significant scenes in the remake version and somehow they still believe it's the best remake ever. Fans will never argue against their own hypocrisy.

SO I have an EXTREMELY hot-take on this - but IMHO I believe Veridgo is the scariest fight. My reasoning is that in the U3 fight you are right-out-of-the-gate under heavy pressure to keep moving in a very fast manner. (incredibly-stress-inducing? yes..) but you are forced to move on to the next segment so fast you almost don't have time to be scared if you wish to succeed. Fueled by adrenaline you scramble to the exit - extremely stressful? sure. But in the Verdigo fight no matter how fast you move..how competent you are - you are waiting for that god-damn elevator to show up - this being completely out of your control and being combined with the stalking scene moments earlier creates the scariest fight in the game.
Against the Verdugo, use the nitrogen cylinder and the shotgun

Apparently they cut this section out of the remake and I'm devastated. This was such a cool part, stuck on storage containers in the air. Could have been made so much scarier.

The developers were afraid to break the structure of the original content and said, that they would make REmake 4 scarier than the original, but they didn't add one of the most creepy and atmospheric moments in the game, the Boss fight with U3. And simply, U3 is one of the most interesting battles in the game! What's wrong with their logic!? Rest in peace U3! You fell victim to controversial developer decisions... After all, other developers, unlike Capcom, don't consider it a good decision to cut out some of the content of the original games in remakes, because that's not an indicator of a successful remake, when people go back to the original game after playing the remake, because it has more unique and memorable content, as it was with REmake 3. Of course, in this case REmake 4 performed much better than REmake 3, but the cut of U3 from REmake 4 reminded me of a similar situation with the Grave Digger boss fight in REmake 3. Capcom should be more properly called Cut-com. This is literally the Destruction of the Old Original Pure Iconic Classics! And it's So, So incredibly Sad!

I agree *for me* it's a big mistake for Capcom to cut U-3 from the main game, it had a lot of potential if they had taken advantage of it to be scarier in the remake...
I was wondering why I fought Krauser before U3 in the remake and I thought to myself maybe U3 will be introduced later on to change it up a bit but nope they cut my boy out. 😓 We’ll miss you U3.

He wasn't included in the remake but it was actually a great decisions. You have to play the remake to understand but this boss really messed with the pacing and was a big ammo waster. Besides, I'm glad that there's still reasons to play the OG. The laser room and the Salazar statue were also changed or scrapped, so re4 OG retains its own identity.
I truly think they removed things like this because they ran out of development time. Not really a great decision to remove one of the scarier fights in the game.

If you shoot him enough in the cage section he’ll just bounce out and allow you hit the switches uninterrupted.

Probably one of the most memorable moments in OG Re4. It was criminal they cut this part out of the game and left in that dumb wreaking ball section.

This is the boss people were hyping up. You literally have more difficulty with the maze/aiming the buttons than fighting this boss. You can literally walk right pass him. I've seen the lickers being more deadly than this thing. Cool Design but the level Design you can clearly see it being underdeveloped.
It sounds more like you just don't see the thought process in the level design. The maze portion is by design meant to challenge you more regarding finding the exit since it's invincible at that point, and then when it transforms, it makes finding the exit even more imperative since it can very easily kill you. The arena phase continues to emphasize the importance movement because it hits very hard and staying still is certain death, especially once it starts burrowing, which isn't seen in this video since the player defeats it so quickly.
Thing is, most people by this stage of the game are just going to trivialize the fight by magdumping a ton of high-DPS weapons or their magnum ammo into it which stunlocks it, and that would trivialize any fight in the game. It's a great fight, but most players with videos of themselves fighting it showcase the very easy ways to defeat it, like hiding behind a gate at the right position so it's unable to reach you even though it's supposed to be able to break them down.
It's similar to how Krauser's fights are pretty well-designed too, but he can easily defeated by a knowledgeable player exploiting the big damage of the knife instead of trying to face him down with guns. That doesn't make these fights any less well-designed, but clearly knowledgeable players playing efficiently isn't going to showcase the brilliance of every boss fight because you'll beat them quick enough they can't show how the fight was expected to go over for first-timers.
@@qazxsw13 for a first playthrough I could see that happening but on repeat playthroughs I don't think it would work as well
@@niddy117 Well yeah, if you mean that people kind of lose the blind aspect of the game the second or more time around. Not really a huge surprise. Games like the first Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 for example will probably always take you the longest your first try, but your second time around since you know where everything is, you're less likely to be surprised by anything and you know how things work. RE4 is no different, except in RE4 you'll have a good idea what strategies work better on subsequent playthroughs.

Nah it's a shitty puzzle fight and an unremarkable Use A Rocket Launcher/Magnum on just to get it over with. It also just comes in when the final hours of the game are at a huge slog. Such a lame filler fight.

From what i heard. People were complaining about the boss being so hard. So that's why Capcom cut the boss from the remake.
