The key here is if they don't have Trade Assurance, don't buy. Thank you for your informative videos. I've been buying from Alibaba for 2-3 years and TA has made it so much easier & safer
I don't buy from any suppliers that don't have it
There are many suppliers that have TA but don't want to use it making excuses to lure you to buy directly to them. It's too many to report to. Alibaba is not doing a good job screening these scammers. How to spot them fast go to details and if they say for you to whatsapp them their own agenda is for you to pay them off the site.
Trade Assurance also costs extra. I just paid over $30 extra only on my down Payment of 30%, when I pay the rest it will be over $100 dollars. I am glad I watched this video... Now I feel much better about spending the extra $.
Can PayPal protect from been scammed?
Thank you Jing. I wondered why many of the suppliers disappeared when I wanted to pay through PayPal or Alibaba. I think will stop trying to buy from Alibaba, those tempting products with tempting price. I tried for over two years. All brighters are not gold.

I am working with a supplier on a quote that has been verified and 11 years on Alibaba but they asked for payment from paypal. But you said to say within the Alibaba platform for payment to be sure it's not a scam and to get the trade assurance. Is paypal safe for payment and do you lose trade assurance if using it ?

Alibaba is supposed for people who are buying in quantity. For just 1 piece, try Aliexpress as alternative. In my next coming video, I will explain where to find Chinese suppliers for different stages or types of business. Make sure you got subscribed, then you won't miss it in the next few weeks.

Supplement products are not very recommended to import from China. Because every country has a lot of regulation for this kind of thing, especially for United States. Better to buy from local vendors.
What if they don't have a response rate or transactions info?

So basically there is no way to know for sure whether we will get scammed?
They so weird. They like to waste your time for real. I've tried 4 vendors and they disappear with no particular reason. They would say Yes and ok with everything, but reply you late.
Don't waste your time. Unless you buy kids toys or throwaway items it's not worth the hassels, the constant back and forth to get to the final sales, and the massive, massive shipping fees and then 80% of the time you end with substandard quality products.

Hi Deja, you can verify the supplier's legitimacy first if you find they are trustful then you can pay to them. And if there occur any problem, you can let Paypal company to help you get the refund.
I'm trying to buy a machine, an interlocking brick/block machine, Although you mention very informative video, I understand you can not cover everything. I am new to importing big ticket product (also, I on;y want to start a new business with limited budget). Them machine ranges from 2,000 to 25,000 USD. My worry is I try to check their credibility, and you are right, one that I contacted has not any certification. On their site when I look for certification, it just said iso, not even capitalized. right away it give me a red flag. The other thing is when they send me the quotation sheet, I noticed that instead of 30% down, they are asking 100% (full payment) before the machine will start in production. My question to you is; how can I haggle them and get a lower price.? Since so many company that everyone has different prices. And the machine I try to buy is usually sold by one unit/set. (Some kind with fully automated cost more than 100,000 USD.

These stuffs really happens cause it happened to me too. I bought a Rolex for $3400 online only for me to realise I was scammed. I was stressed out cause it was a gift for my husband birthday but well a friend got me introduced to hackbeign on Insta he recovered her scammed money so I took a try he asked a few questions and some proofs. And finally after thinking it was impossible I got my money back. Thank you hackbeign. If you got scammed try him he could help good luck.

It's a very wide question. Because there are so many different types of certifications which are issued from different companies or institutions. There's no a website that you can verify all of them. The most effective way is go the the official webiste if where the certification is issued, and contact them to verify if it's real.

Ok so I sent my inquiry the supplier didn’t send me anything on Alibaba but followed me on instagram and messaged me directly. The supplier only asked if I had WhatsApp in my dm. We discussed what I wanted and the supplier gave me a price. Now the supplier is asking for my payment option I’m new to this a lot of ppl been telling me it was a scam ? Is this safe?

If you are not 100% sure that the supplier is legit and reliable. Then make sure you need to place order and finish the transaction via trade assurance. Asking for Whatsapp nunber, Ins Facebook account is normal, because they want to know more about you, or have more close connect with with you.

Speaking of scams...I've recently been told by an Alibaba insider that freight-service companies that are listed on Alibaba - regardless of whether they are "Trade Assurance" listed (and assuming that would mean something, under the BEST of circumstances) -- are not at ALL backed by Alibaba against incompetent service or even outright fraud. I'd be disputing a months-long problem with one such firm right now, if I could find a way. No matter that they're TA members. I'm told that they don't even have to work through Alibaba's Trade Order payment system if they don't want to, so now they've got crates of my goods that were to be consolidated for shipment, they reneged on the shipping quote they provided, and are now even adding STORAGE charges. And worse, apparently even if I submit to whatever hostage-payment demand they might make now, just so I could move on with life a lot poorer, I STILL wouldn't have any guarantee that they would ship my goods! What do you know of to assist with this?
Seems the only secure means of getting goods shipped is to work through Alibaba's built-in shipping portal, which is deeply flawed and/or gives really high quotes. Supplier's view of myAlibaba may offer them other shipping options (both air and ocean) but this view is completely obscured to the buyer, so we can't see or select any options. Ridiculous.
International shipping (air or ocean) is really industry in mess, there are tens of thousands or even more small companies or individuals are offering the service. They are called freight forwarders, don't have any transportation vessals or vehicles, but just computers and phones, and what they do is coordinating with shipper and shipping companies (shipping company don't deal with shipper).
There are no outstanding freight forwarders, as most them are small size companies. So all price, cost, shipping time informations become not clear, no standard, and there are even no effective cargo tracking system for all these companies. Most freight forwarders on Alibaba you can find are very small size, and has these disadvantages, but price maybe competitive.
The best advise is that if you can trust your product supplier, then just let them help you find a freight forwarder, pay shipping cost to supplier, and let them be responsible for shipping.
Otherwise, you need to find a freight forwarder for long term relationship, and let them help you arrange shipping from anywhere of China.(freight forwarders can arrange shipping from every where, no matter where they are based) . Maybe you can find one from freightos.com, but don't find one from Alibaba.com. The shipping service provided by Alibaba to suppliers is not available for buyers to use, because those freight forwarders only speak Chinese and don't deal with foreigners, and that's why they are obscured to you(buyer).

Hi Suraj, yes you can pay from wire transfer. Remember to pay to the supplier's bank account which Alibaba trade assurance send to you, not the supplier's account which supplier send to you.

So i bought products from a supplier , then i was shopping for a good freight forwarder price and i found one with good price (she said 1.5$/kg) which was cheaper of what the freight forwarder of my supplier. so i told my supplier to give them the products.
however after she got the products , and i told her to ship , she told me price is 2.6$/KG and she even wants me to pay others fees. she have the products , i asked her to return them to my supplier , she said you have to pay 749$ !!!!

Very sorry to hear the problem. If the freight forwarder's price is not too much higher than your suppliers, then choose it. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is just to ask your supplier to help you talk with the freight forwarder to get your products back. Maybe it's easier for Chinese people to talk to the freight forwarder.

I don't know much about the fire stick. It seems this product is own by Amazon, so it's not that possible to get them from Chinese suppliers.
