Ah what I would give to be able to play clarinet... like this... I’ve always wanted to play so badly, might get myself a clarinet, I already play other stuff so the reading won’t be a problem, just the fact that I’ve never played a woodwind instrument ever
He's using an A clarinet or the fingering on Bb with that level of clarity would be insurmountable. I love his altissimo register tone! I'm keep scrolling back to listen to some measures repeatedly.
There are so many familiar harmonic colors in here. For instance, a tune that Bird played at the start of career "This time the dream's on me" (I can't recall the composer) is quoted. Is this all original Gershwin or where some phrases added in by the arranger? Great material to study
I don’t know why y’all think the beginning is the same as rhapsody in blue. Look at the beginning in both the scores they are different and sound different
@@sum7242 It might be written different but its obviously being taken from rhapsody in blue. Its by the same composer anyway. Plus doing a gliss from a low g to a high c is crazy hard to do. In fact I've only heard a gliss like that from this video at 3:55. th-cam.com/video/85yHbCgNpD8/w-d-xo.html
Love the starting and ending references to rhapsody in blue!
i absolutely agree with you.

Керемет! Қазақстаннан жалынды сәлем!

It is quite literally the same exact thing.
no because on this u gliss from a low g to high c but in rhapsody in blue it’s written as a scale
