- how to change a crankshaft pulley/ harmonic balancer, symptoms of why it needs changing are too much engine vibration, throwing the auxiliary belt off and engine knocking at a certain steady revs.

Did you use the old bolt or did you replace with a new one?

Why would my new belt be very hard to fit back on the way it came off? Any ideas keeps stredding belts changed crankshaft pulley too
If belt is really tight getting it on with the tensioner pulley fully released then you may have the wrong size belt as someone previously has put a new one on and you have copied that belt info, I had same thing copied info off the belt fitted before my ownership only to find it was the wrong size, but also check all pulleys turn smoothly when belt off.
@masterman007 yeah non ac non pto 1148 belt others are massive all new apart from alternator and power steering pully but they are free
How did you tighten it up again ? Mine just turns on itself
I used a rachet extension tube and hit that with a club hammer, been fine since.👍🏻
How did you remove the bolt that secures it?
Socket with long extension bar resting on the ground under bumper then quickly turn key to turn engine over for a second or two and the nut will undo easily.👍🏻
my enginewas rebult befor i had van. since got a vibration when rev or drive it. any ideas
If engine is vibrating when you rev or drive it, I would check for an injector not performing right.
