It's always nice to see what you find. I have learned a lot about snakes and turtles by looking these videos. I have seen snake maybe four times in my life and here is no turtles. 🐢🐍
Anatomically they are pretty different, and the turtles know it. The mud turtles prefer habitat that periodically dries out and musks prefer more permanent bodies of water. I doubt it’s happening in the wild, most hybrids are artifacts of captivity
@@hunterdean4766 stinkpots and loggerheads I don’t think really happens, I’ve noticed they really do not get along well in the wild and they seem to partition shared habitats. However, the striped muds and eastern muds are sharing habitats pretty heavily here, and I totally believe there is possibly some occasional mixing, but still quite rare. Turtles are very good at chemical and pheromone identity, and most inter species matings would likely be from a lack of available mates
Hey Greg! I see you found a lot of musk and mud turtles there. Ive been trying to find some but have been unsuccessful every time. Could you please help with that? I have a musk right now about the size of the one you found near 2:11
The collab we never knew we needed I love watching both these guys very informative
That striped mud was awesome!!!
I wish I saw more of these!
America has a lot of beautiful turtles👏
I love videos like this because it gives a good reference for habitats to replicate for my own animals.
One of the reasons I make these videos; giving insight into the way turtles really live, and help your turtles have better lives 👍🏼
No way! I've been subbed to you guys for so long now, what a crossover!

When cottonmouths are young, they spend most of their days HIGH in the tree canopy. Where they feed on flyish fish.
*I can't get a job anywhere 😭
😂
Greg, do mud and musk turtles create hybrids in the wild? It seems like it would happen a lot considering how similar they all look.

@@GregsTurtleHaven I didn't really mean muds mating with musks but stinkpots mating with loggerheads or striped muds with eastern muds for example.
