I've always admired Leslie Howard; saw GWTW for the first time (of many times) in the late '60s. However, he finally captured my heart 2 months ago & I just think he's the cat's meow! I had only seen 3 of his movies until Nov. 2019; now I've seen 25 of his 27 available movies. The ones mentioned here are all terrific--Stand In, Secrets, Reserved For Ladies, etc. Also love Devotion, Animal Kingdom, Of Human Bondage, Pimpernel Smith... Love this man dearly!
That was just charming!!! I absolutely adore Leslie Howard!!! I'm having some great trouble finding some of his early films such as Smilin' Through, Secrets, Reserved for Ladies etc. Can someone please tell me what film the clips of him wearing glasses - at about 3mins and at the end with the chalk on the floor - what film is that from?
@Ed86Wood Ah Reserved for Ladies is impossible ti find, argh! I wish I could see it too. I think that you are referring to the clips from "Stand-In" a lovely comedy he starred in.
I love that bits with him learning to dance - sooo cute! aw ;) I just listened to the Lux Radio Theatre version of Stand-In this morning (unfortunately LH didn't do the voice in it) - I LOVED it!!! I'm desperate to see the proper film now - it sounds hilarious! Does anyone know where I can see it? Its not on dvd anywhere!!! Why hasnt someone put it on youtube yet???? arg!!!
It's beyond time that there was a decent Leslie Howard biopic. Unless there's some new 30-ish actor in the wings, though, the only actor who I feel could've done Howard true justice is unfortunately no longer with us, and would've been much too old to play him at this point were he alive. But I've long thought that David Bowie would've been a great actor to play Howard during the 80s or early 90s. Actually, Bowie would've been a terrific Conrad Veidt, too, come to think of it.
Leslie Howard had intelligence and class-a very rare commodity in Hollywood today.
He was great great great in his craft
Lovely 🥺🤧
Very enjoyable!
Thank you for your time and hard work.
Leslie was a remarkable talent!

It's on youtube now if you never found it!
