The video title is misleading. Nothing in the "report" provides any information on how "individual fandoms are more important than group fans". Obviously, group fans are very important for group activities. individual fandoms are very important for solo activities...especially when the individuals are not managed by the same company that manages the group. For example, the report on Taeyang literally makes no sense. There currently is no active group called "Big Bang". It's a disbanded group. Is Taeyang supposed to pretend that he is Big Bang and use Big Bang merch for his solo activities, while he's under a different label, is a solo artist and only a FORMER member of Big Bang...and while YG continues to own the trademark rights for any official Big Bang merch like lightsticks? Will Big Bang fans be happy if Seung-ri uses Big Bang lightsticks and merch to promote his solo activities and weird business activities? And individual members of idol groups having their own fandoms while being members of active groups is nothing new. It has literally ALWAYS been that way.
Jennie always mentioned that she miss blinks even before the day she post a pic in her ig story saying she miss blinks Jennie and jisoo has always been mentioned their fans as blinks
When Taeyang released his individual lightstick I just commented No. There should always be a unifying thread if you're apart of a group and having individual lightsticks and fanclubs is just removing yourself from your group. I think if you're successful enough with your group that you also have your solo career you really don't need to market yourself like a solo artists.
Well, Big Bang does not even exist anymore as an official group. NONE of the former members of Big Bang are even under contract with YG. It would be awkward and possibly controversial for Taeyang to use the Big Bang lightstick for his solo activities. (Also, YG undoubtedly owns all of the trademark rights for Big Bang merch.) For Blackpink, it also makes sense for them to create their own fan-related things for their solo activities. YG undoubtedly owns all of the trademark rights for Blackpink merch, including lightsticks, etc. Each of the members of Blackpink is no longer connected to YG for any of their solo activities, so it would be awkward and controversial for them to promote their solo activities using Blackpink group logos, lightsticks and merch. As for fandom names, Lisa acknowledges both blinks and lilies, which can overlap. Many blinks (fans of Blackpink) also consider themselves to be lilies (fans of Lisa for her solo activities). It's not that complicated. It's only complicated when some Kpop fans start making up fake rules about who can be what.

I just want everybody to be aware that there's a difference between their group fans and soloist fans
