You forgot a few things: - 3 to 1 recipe. Sell 3 maps that are the same to a vendor, and you get one map a tier higher from the same region. - Lost maps prophecy. Useful for early maps, and you can use those in the recipe - Cartography scarabs are the ones that actually get you more maps - Heist: Demolition has delirium and blight, which can both give you maps with that mechanic, and engineering has straight up map boxes
When I first started playing poe. I misunderstood this and was selling every tier * I had think it could roll as any but now have learned that it can only roll what it is connected to.
Holding ALT in maps to show completion: you MUST enable “advanced mod descriptions” in UI for this to work. I spent an entire league manually checking (hovering map and checking atlas) cuz Stupid *** alt *** wasnt working. Hope this helps some noobies.

yeahhh..... um Vaal Temple is literally the reason I dont vaal maps while trying to complete my atlas. I had one f'ing T15 map left and templed it, and now I'm stuck running T8's again until I go buy maps on trade.

I have completed about 120 of the bonus objectives and I still struggle with finding high tier maps, even when I use corrupted maps with about 100% item quantity. I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one that struggles with maps
Alva drops A LOT of maps now. Sure, map rooms, strong box rooms... but even just normal monster drops. I have dropped LOADS of maps from her. Apart from that, Zana, Atziri (and if you don't intend to run her, just use her frags on your highest tiers maps) also give a bunch.
You can use Harvest to role (and re-roll) your maps. I bulk role maps every harvest encounter, usually 5 to 10 maps starting with my highest tier maps first.

I think you missed one great source of maps and that is delve. Going to 183 or whatever depth is for 83 lvl mobs and going left and right looking for those underground nodes I think temples they are called - they drop often a lot of maps.
Correction. Maps don't have to be visible to drop, the TIER has to visible to drop. and just somewhere, anywhere, doesn't have to be adjacent. adjacent nodes just have a bonus, as do uncompleted. For example I didn't complete ANY valdo's rest maps at all this last run and still got to all corners, and not through adjacent nodes at all. I had tier 5 Lira maps dropping while I was on the opposite side of the atlas, and before I'd even been to either valdo's or Lira. You get maps within tier range, but can be on completely uncovered places on the atlas. if you open the atlas and right click them it zooms to the area that they will eventually show if completed but there is nothing there yet, and they are not just 'out of shot' by one node, they are in entirely untouched areas. Several times these last 2 leagues so it's not a 3.14 thing. I think the map drop logic is now like this: can drop ANY map from current tier+2, with a bonus to adjacent and uncompleted.
If anyone reads this > buy CAER BLAIDD map, it's 6-8c - tier 14. It has 3 wolf bosses and they drop a lot of maps. Buy 10 maps and blast 'em, you will get it rolling easily.
Well, I haven't traded a single map (other than actually selling overflow for quick profit) and I have 147 completion atm and still a few maps that I can run, but I am still chasing watchstones. Just alch or orb of binding your maps. T14 and up also quality them, use sextants, use master missions, fragments, scarabs and vaal them if you can run all or close to all map mods. Sometimes I feel like going all out.. sometimes I just Orb of Binding and go. I am NOT struggling in maps whatsoever. No one should.
I was able to reach AW 6 on ritual with few trades (due to some of them dont even reply). Just dont skimp your currency on rolling maps also running master missions can help due to increase monster sizes and rarity.
Oh, so if I've killed my first quad of conquerors and were socketing in all 4 watchstones in the area I were mapping in, I basically made it impossible for yellows to drop?

Hmm, one in 5 seems a bit low. I think I have been lucky and got alot more missions than normal. Maybe focus on atlas passive points that give missions is the difference
I struggled a lot, like took me hours to get the last the last conqueror kill in the corner at the beginning, after that it was really a breeze, and I didnt even bother with completion (rn i have 85 and im self sustaining t14-t16 without sweating)

Apparently that holding alt on the map thing needs that setting to show advanced item info or whatever on... My friend who just started didn't see the completion info till he turned it on

Relax. You watched the video right as it came out, youtube over advertises past the point the content creator set the ads at all the time. Especially right as a video launches. The upload system glitches all the time. I had 2 ads, one at the start and one near the end.
It's so bad at end-game. I chisel, enchant, vaal maps.. put frags and do all the works and run 3 T16s in a row and all of them just dropped T11... I don't know what to do . I even used a cartographer scarab..

As soon as I saw this league, the Ultimatum mechanics, and the patch notes I saw this coming. Most Veteran players did and im sure Ducks did as well. I dont like the Ultimatum mechanics at all and it is severely overtuned. The effort and time they take along with the rewards are the worst EVER imo. I dont even waste my time with it. After hitting maps and mapping all day yesterday I realized by t5 maps that these weren’t are usual t5 maps. All the math pointed towards a harder, tankier, less forgiving league and here it is. Ive played since day 1 beta and only missed a few leagues but this has to be my most unsavory experience. I love PoE and know how to get thru this pain in the ass league but I cannot see a league like this retaining new players. Not everybody is a diehard, play all day type of player. Some of us want to log in for a few hours, progress, kill mobs, and hit a wall around red maps. Makes more sense to me...
You forgot to mention that scarabs gives 15% quantity to the map each beside the effect that it brings. So it's always a plus even tho effect is not that good

Everything is fully juiced, fully sextants with packs of 6, with fragments. They broke the atlas this season and it just sucks. It's like they don't want us to play the game. I'm not going back to T10's and working my way back up.
For anyone that knows. If I have, like his example, a Temple Tier 3 but have watch stones in to make it a Tier 12, will drops be based off my Tier 3 white map? Or the watch stone buffed Tier 12 map?
my problem with the current way the atlas works is, even if i only put 4 watchstones in one region and only do maps from there 80% of maps that drop while mapping ar low tier ones until i have 4 watchstones everywere... . i gues some rng is involved too but i dont have luck most of the time. iam at 89 / 164 atm and in transition to 4 watchstones required to spawn conquerors and every league i have a map bottle neck to grind trough at that point. ( if i dont do my 3 watchstone conquerors in the outer corner regions i dont even have 1 t 14 at this point to run)

Seems like they just make every other league a poverty league (like ultimatum), and the other has broken stuff (AKA, fun mechanics) dropping all over the place (like ritual)
i try to buy the map that i still didn't have to clear bonus so i can drop them normaly but around 95% of people who sell said map not repond to your whisper. maybe they think their time is worth more than 5c ( maybe it is cause they run high tier map but if that the case why tf you list map for sell if you don't want to sell it WTF) and i later on found that just use horizon is better for your mental health. it's cost more but you rid of the anoyying process of whispering and trading the dam map.

So even if a map is connected to other, it won't drop now? Newer to the game but other guides have said as long as their connected, it'll have a chance to drop that map. That changed?
Oh boy. This game is so confusing. Would loved to start the game back in 2011 and get grown with all these mechanics and systems. But starting in 2021 (with no premium stuff) is pretty hard. :(
It definitely has a learning curve. The atlas takes a long time to internalize. I started in delerium, and good lord i kind of hated the game at first due to the complexity. It gets easier quickly. You're definitely going to have a hard time without at least a few stash tabs. There's a sale every couple of weeks on stash tabs. If you have an extra 20 bucks, i would suggest getting the currency tab and upgrading all your base stash tabs to premium tabs (if you have the money/like the game enough). That'll be good enough for a long time.

Ultimatum is a fucking league. I'd rather do ritual, heist, or even the slow and trashy Harvest league. I really don't even have the motivation to play this league. All seems trash.
anyway this league is the most shitty of all! full of bugs, full of problems, disconnections, lag, big nerfs on Harvest, very bad drops, very few people playing¬ GGG one step forward last league, 2 step backward this league.. what a shame! hope they learn from theyr mistakes! sad aboout this league :*(

map drop rng goes in streaks. you have a couple that drop a bunch of maps, then a couple that drop just one or none.

Hey noticed a small mistake here. Normal mobs can't drop maps tier+1 from current, only magic and rare mobs can.

I am skipping this league for a bit as I work on playing deeper in standard as I am very casual player. Good info tho.
Do you have to make the red map a rare map first, before you Vaal Orb it? Or can you go from white to red straight away?

Same here, leapfrogging doesn't seem to work for me, i still have to put stones evenly to progress...

i try to buy the map that i still didn't have to clear bonus so i can drop them normaly but around 95% of people who sell said map not repond to your whisper. maybe they think their time is worth more than 5c ( maybe it is cause they run high tier map but if that the case why tf you list map for sell if you don't want to sell it WTF) and i later on found that just use horizon is better for your mental health. it's cost more but you rid of the anoyying process of whispering and trading the dam map.
People that listen a item to sell them dosen't respond when wispered drives me mad, jesssus this is the most annoying thing on poe trade system
I feel you bro , have whisped 10 guys for trading chaos for chroma , none respond i switch for chaos for regret , and the first guy i whisp is the same guy that trade chaos for chroma ... and didn't respond either , drive me insanely mad !
So even if a map is connected to other, it won't drop now? Newer to the game but other guides have said as long as their connected, it'll have a chance to drop that map. That changed?

Oh boy. This game is so confusing. Would loved to start the game back in 2011 and get grown with all these mechanics and systems. But starting in 2021 (with no premium stuff) is pretty hard. :(
It definitely has a learning curve. The atlas takes a long time to internalize. I started in delerium, and good lord i kind of hated the game at first due to the complexity. It gets easier quickly.
You're definitely going to have a hard time without at least a few stash tabs. There's a sale every couple of weeks on stash tabs. If you have an extra 20 bucks, i would suggest getting the currency tab and upgrading all your base stash tabs to premium tabs (if you have the money/like the game enough). That'll be good enough for a long time.
Stash tab sale is active at the moment. I also learned enough in one season last league to get through maps decently

Remember to keep resists at 75% min, evasion must be high as fuck and spam bootles. You can try rolling leech's it helps a lot
@@aeit999 I have them all at 75%, but there are just some things that really kill me, like monsters that reflect elemental damage, that bleeding thing (the red swirling globs on top of my head?) I'm following the PoB he pasted on his bfbb guide.
@@Gallaheim run a bottle to cleanse/immune during flask effect to bleeding to solve that 2nd issue.

TL;DW alch and chisel your maps. actually use your currency. orbs of binding are your best friend. play the game.

Definitely stop using white/yellow to describe item rarity, i.e. Normal/Magic/Rare/Unique. It only adds even more confusion when talking about maps.

Ultimatum is a fucking league. I'd rather do ritual, heist, or even the slow and trashy Harvest league. I really don't even have the motivation to play this league. All seems trash.
anyway this league is the most shitty of all! full of bugs, full of problems, disconnections, lag, big nerfs on Harvest, very bad drops, very few people playing¬ GGG one step forward last league, 2 step backward this league.. what a shame! hope they learn from theyr mistakes! sad aboout this league :*(
so you basically said manipulate your map to get maps to drop in certain regions and you didnt explain what that actually entails.... specifically how do the map regions interact and how did you manipulate them. doesnt take 6.5 minutes to say what you said, and you could have actually explained all that in that time.
