I wouldn't call sauske Jonin level until the 2nd curse mark and beyond. During Zabuza arc he's high genin to low chunin. During chunin exams he's awakened his Sharingan so he's low chunin level as he still gets embarrassed by Lee and really comes across as a weakling until he awakens the curse mark. When he returns from training he's high chunin level having learned the chidori, moving similar speed to Lee and putting up a close fight against Gaara. I just didn't see any feats that made me think he could contend with a Jonin in a fight.
