This is one of those songs that is timeless. Songs like Lose Yourself, Will Smith's Summertime and Coolio's Gangster's Paradise just play no matter how much time how gone by.
Hey JayShara… hope you’re doing well… This is one bad ass motivational song!!!! Love me some Eminem!!!!! Man’s got some BARS!!!! One of his best is a song called Soldier…. That song will get you moving too… love all types of music… Oldies, R&B, rock, etc…. Keep kicking ass girl!!!! Have a blessed day 😊😊😊😊
Yes, Detroit. 8 Mile (Rd.) is notorious. A couple landmarks in this video were The Ambassador Bridge (to Windsor, Ontario) and The Renaissance Center (the tall round buildings). I used to work on 12 Mile.
Please more of this! Definitely need more Eminem and 50 Cent on the channel. I'd love to see you react to "8 Mile Road" which is motivational like this song except more from the perspective of the movie character. Like in the movie they changed his daughter to be his little sister and wife to a new gf . That's really the only big change. Also "The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim" by Eminem and Kid Cudi; your gonna love it 🔥🔥 🔥 He was born in Michigan but raised mostly in Detroit. He constantly moved back and forth because of of an unstable home life. His mom would either lose their apartment / home or home and his brother would have to go with foster care.
I don't really listen to a lot of Eminem, but I respect his talent.I think he's a gifted wordsmith.Rappers who keep it simple & direct appeal more to me.I have to sense the fire & pain in your belly.Scarface, Tupac, or even Lil Boosie for example. There has to be an icy cold Blues type vibe in your expression.Have to pull from the gut & put your diaphragm into it.Rap doesn't have that commanding voice/presence anymore. It's like someone cut off the bass & turned up the treble.Neutered back into boyhood. Not putting that jacket on Em, but this vid got me reflecting back on the state of Hip Hop in general.Marveling at how it's evolved to what it is right now.Em's from an era where the pedigree was still strong.
2nd verse on Rainman is a masterclass on turning on charisma. So is Rap God “but I gotta keep a few punchlines for these unsigned rappers looking at me like it’s lunchtime.”
This song and Till I Collapse are so motivational! Its still weird to see the areas of Detroit they did camera shots in! I used to go to St. Andrews Hall on the weekends! Thats where they did the rap battles! Yea he's from here!
Well, for me, Eminem is one of the best artists I have ever heard. Top 5 hip-hop artists easily, if not top 5, number 6 easily. Do you have people saying that they don’t never hear the Eminem song in the club. Well if you think about it, his songs are not club music related and I’m a just end it like that. Still one of the greatest artists I have heard. It might be hard for some people to except that, but what can you do
This is an awesome song! There's a female opera singer who covered this on a show once. She's awesome at this! She did not change the lyrics, she did the whole song as-is. My memory is CRAP so I do not remember her name but the show is called Beste Zangers. :)
This, till I collapse, and higher always make me feel like I can punch a whole through steel wall. 😂 Detroit what! Detroit what!! 😅😂 yes, he’s from Detroit Michigan.
A lot of the footage in the video was from the movie 8 Mile.... And the sign they showed a couple times is significant because 8 Mile is the dividing line between Detroit and many of its suburbs. It's a really good movie and I'd recommend that you watch it, some of it is based on his story and I'm sure some of it is filler to make a good movie. In fact one night when I was heading out of Detroit on my way home from work I happen to go up to 8 Mile and cut across and I seen some very bright lights that normally aren't there and I found out later on that was because they were filming.
Yeah 8 mile road is in detroit. I’m from 40 ish mins away from there and growing up when we had to go through detroit there are areas that the stores all close by dark or else bad shit will happen. Shootings and robberies. My mom got her car stolen from the security guards at the cancer hospital, like no chill lol there are areas that are safe and areas where you better lock the doors and not stop they say. Like every major city I’m sure. It’s also a big place for traf*Icking I hear😫 have heard some horror stories. But em grew up in the bad parts. They aren’t given opportunities to succeed and poverty keeps people down. So of course people who make it out of that are inspirational to the other people who feel like they can’t and are being told by society that they can’t. The tv show All American shows that as well as it’s based on a true story about Spencer Paysinger. A NFL football player who made it from Crenshaw.
Em is a good dude don't judge him, just remember when he raps don't take his lyrics or what he says literally there just words that's a major song he won an Oscar for this song 🐐 check out not afraid by Em 🐐
Then send this sista all the positive songs he got right now 😂 I said no one should have sent you Kim. It should have been later on but i think the song would have shocked you no matter what. I love the Kim song for certain reasons especially as an artist. Sometimes this is just a release. To let go. Eminem made alot of those kind of songs and that is why he balances it out with funny music videos too. He been through shit and did shit. Also people should send you some funny videos that Em does that would male you feel alittle better about him.
He was young and found his wife cheating on him what do you think most young man would do when he is loyal he’s loyal with everything even fat joe says how loyal he is and he really loved her even helped her out after she cheated on him
i was about to write that you haven't heard this song which rock you were under... at that moment you said "ohh this song... i have heard this song.".. 🤣🤣 i was about to destroy you in the comments... sorry my bad.
He is from the worst part of the worst city in the early 90s They burned his house down Killing people was an average day Thats why he is solidified. Almost no rappers have had it as bad as he did in Detroit in the 90s. No where close.
One of the greatest motivational rap songs ever written.
