- Beatrix Potter author of Peter Rabbit one of my all time favourite classic books from my childhood would be OUTRAGED! Enjoy Guys as I RANT on this HORRENDOUS PIECE OF GARBAGE that RAPES! Peter Rabbit’s legacy did Sony even read the book?
This is the worst film I've seen so far this year!!! All of the human and animal characters were extremely unlikable, the story itself was awful, and the CGI was just atrocious!! Beatrix Potter is not only rolling in her grave, but her spirit in heaven is weeping with despair over how her beloved characters have been treated!!
Thanks ever so much Alex I 100% agree with your thoughts on this disgrace to Beatrix Potters work. She’d rightfully sue Sony for this if she’d seen this atrocity. While Fifty Shades is worse for me, this is my second least favourite movie of 2018 easily👍!

I've heard about Beatrix Potter rejecting Walt Disney's pitch for a Peter Rabbit movie. Needless to say, Disney would've done WAY better than Sony.
Sony didn't even try to make a good Peter Rabbit movie, with a good story, good characters and all that kind of stuff, they just wanted this film to be cool and hip with the kids with a predictable story, annoying characters, bad acting and cringey humour. LJN's colour of yellow is for piss-poor lack of loyalty to its source material.
Harry Thomas Pictures I do want to say thank you for ranting this movie. As a huge Peter Rabbit fan and I truly love Beatrix Rabbit's works I refused to see this movie. I will never see it and I'll never rent it in my entire life instead I would rather watch and buy the original hand drawn animated tv show by Beatrix Rabbit once it comes out on DVD and Blu Ray and I'll show it to my kids If I became a parent one day. I have better taste in movies more than anyone thinks. Because of how Sony is so mean spirited and disrespectful to Peter Rabbit, I refused to watch and spend money on any more Sony films I don't care how good is it I don't care how funny is it I refused to see them. I'm not going to see Spider Man Into the Spider Verse I was going to see it but I change my mind, I'm not going to see Hotel Transylvania 3, not going to see any of future films because I'm turning a new leaf this year. Please respect my opinion and I respect yours.

The sequel literally makes this one look good by comparison, especially with the cheap special effects it used.
Hi again, Harry. I've seen all 9 episodes of The World of Peter Rabbit & Friends; the whole series of it. All the 9 episodes are fantastic; the whole series is fantastic. I loved it. It shows 100% respect and loyalty to the source material that they had been given, unlike that crappy 2018 Peter Rabbit movie from Sony. Don't you agree with me?

Yep, I can certainly see why this is considered an abomination. The trailers definitely were bad, and it was clear that it wasn't going to even scratch the surface of being faithful to the source material. I too found Mr. McGregor very intimidating as a kid, and his nephew in this movie sounds like a joke. It is interesting how this movie has gained controversy over the supposed food allergy scene. Also, you would think that the movie makers would release this closer to Easter, but then again, this wouldn't be a good addition to it. I don't know if I'll ever see this movie, but if I do, I would probably do so with the intention of making fun of it. I've liked the Spider-Man trilogy, Surf's Up, and the first Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, but other than that, Sony Pictures really doesn't seem to know what they're doing.

Maybe because Sony pictures animation just a scummy company that's not really saying much but what happened the old days back then I enjoy Open Season and Surf's Up there actually good movies but nowadays they made a lot of crappy films.
Heck I really hope that Spider-Man into the spider-verse a marvel animated film going to be great.

I was very pleased to see the words 'Extreme Rant' attached to this video! I'm not going to see this movie - last thing I want is to contribute to its box office - but I felt more repulsed by the trailers than anything else I've seen for some time. Beatrix Potter was a big part of my childhood and this would have her rolling in her grave. What makes it even worse is that the Paddington movies have already demonstrated it is possible to adapt classic children's literature for present day audiences without completely taking a dump all over the original. If we were going to have a Peter Rabbit movie, why couldn't it be something like Rotten Tomatoes's best reviewed movie ever?

Well, Harry, at least we can both agree that the hand-drawn animated TV series adaptation from the early ‘90s (essentially the pre-school children’s alternative to Batman: The Animated Series if that makes any sense) is much more mature and respectful to the source material than this stinking pile of turd from Sony ever could be, right?

I can't blame sony or will gluck for not reading the book cuz I haven't read it either and I really want to just to understand the source material the only way I heard about it was cuz I saw the the new animated show the cgi one but I will read the book when I get there.

I knew nothing about this story from what it’s based on but the trailer did look very stupid and just like every terrible other live action animated hybrid. That was just appalling when I saw how brutal the traps that the main human character got it into because the movies make the rabbits look like real dicks, so the the guy is completely in the right to claim to his girlfriend/wife that the rabbits are not good at all.
It’s also annoying whenever they always play pop music in these trailers like the “Feel It Still” song I’ve heard numerous times LMAO.

looking back, Peter Rabbit would be boring! More Boring than Frozen. Can you respect my Opinion on Shaun The Sheep Movie? tbh, it's second place with Curse Of The Were Rabbit and Chicken Run is somewhat Overrated but, in third postion. I loved it now because, I was scared of it when I was younger.

Harry Thomas Pictures Just watched the film on TH-cam and it's debatable if it's animated film or not But if you were to count it i find this as so far the worst Animated Film of 2018 So far: Worse than Monster Family/Happy Family, Worse than Sherlock Gnomes and Worse than Scooby Doo and Batman: The Brave and the Bold this movie is absolutely horrible. The story is a mess, the Cg is hideous, the characters are obnoxious and bland and beatrix potter is rolling in her grave right now because of this film just like when it felt like pao was rolling in his grave after those live action Smurfs films

Sony Pictures, times have changed. You're not in the early 2000s anymore. We're in the late 2010s, you know, a new different era. You went to see DreamWorks' Shrek movies first (Despite that I loved the first two films) and then you decided to make more family comedies like Shrek, so you can incorporate Peter Rabbit with potty humour and pop culture references? What a joke. Don't get me wrong, I still loved Shrek 1 & 2, they are great family movies. They could get away with its potty humour and pop culture references, because they are fairytale parodies. You praised DreamWorks Animation with their Shrek films, you locked that inside your head and you kept doing the same thing as DreamWorks for over a decade. If you have the formula to copy DreamWorks Animation, it's no longer valid. And again, we're in a different era. So stop being in denial.

This is what I mean, all the animation studios (with the exceptions of Disney, Pixar, Aardman, Don Bluth, Laika, Studio Ghibli and Cartoon Saloon) are just trying very hard to copy DreamWorks Animation and Shrek films to incorporate family films with toilet humour and modern pop culture references so they can replicate the success of Shrek films to make money. They don't care about the story and character development, they don't care about important life lessons and subject matters, they only cared about money and that's all.
Just imagine how much different modern movies would be had Shrek not used pop-songs and trendy humor and instead felt more like a Pixar movie not made by Pixar.
