    Hello, very useful information, one question is are you allowed to use a drone ?

      It's a National Forest, so as far as I know, yes. If it were a Wilderness Area, you can't.

    I wanted to thank you for all your videos. I watch every time (if available) before a hike in So Cal. Super helpful. Happy Hiking.

    went for my first time this past Friday and swam... I love that the water's flowing good at the moment

      Nice, yea, the bowl looked nice, crystal clear water. I had swam in there a few years ago but it was a bit warmer than it was on this day. It's a great spot until the crowds show up.

    Other than the permit, do you need an adventure pass to park?

    How deep is the water?

    • @Hikingguy
      @Hikingguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure exactly but when it's full its enough to jump into

      It’s been a while since I’ve been there but it’s really really deep, like you could not touch the bottom with out scuba gear kinda deep in the middle. I have jumped from the 50ft cliff back before it was illegal and there was no concern of hitting bottom… I think there was a case in 2008 after the fire when silt made it more shallow but likely not an issue now

    Cris another great hike that I bet almost all of hikers in SD do not know about. You are the new Jerry Schadd of Hiking San Diego. ( and OC, LA Riv, San Burdo) And other parts. Did I mention Turtle Head Pk or Mt Charelston in NV (Las Vegas) Keep it up Cris.

      Ha well thank you again, and yea, trying to get the "best of" hikes up - so many great places and SD is nice when spots north are snowy or too crowded. Glad you're digging them! 👍👍👍

    We have a permit for this weekend. Was this on the weekend? I haven't been here in ages, but have heard stories where there are hoards of people (which I don't enjoy when hiking). How early did you go? Great video, thanks!

      I did this on a weekday at sunrise because I wanted to make the video without getting other people in it. I've done it prob a dozen times over the year, sunrise has always been good. Once I left around 830am and it was already crowded. I'd say leave when it's dark and you'll prob have the falls to yourself. FYI they let 75 groups in with 5 person max / per group.
