Get Nourishing Stepping Stones, my meal plan that takes real people on a doable journey to a Wise Traditions diet or GAPS in 3 months -> bumblebee-apothecary.teachable.com/p/nourishing-stepping-stones
If I could eat meals from any chef in the world it would be you. I never seen food that looks so nourishing and delicious. These videos motivate me to stay with GAPS.
Hello! I’m almost 3 weeks in GAPS and BEST DECISION EVER! I’m so happy. You were my main inspiration and guide (I bought your guide, I recommend it to any newbie) and I thank you so much. I will be humble and say I may have the perfect profile to respond to GAPS diet but oh boy, nothing is achy, no inhaler for Asthma, no allergy pills. :) seems that I’m histamine intolerant. Thank you so much!
@@MJ-uq1yp sure, I have been doing the phase 1 of the GAPS diet mostly and a few things from phase 2. So, pretty much beef and chicken soup, carrots, zucchini, squash, pumpkins, honey, salt, eggs (first the yolks and now whole eggs), fresh ginger tea as well as the other approved teas (I have those in tea bags, not fresh). I was planning to make the intro a few days, but the improvement was so quick and noticeable that I decided to extent it. The first noticeable thing was that my face lost inflammation, something I could only achieve with fasting, Second thing is that I don't snore loudly anymore, if any, according to my husband, and I can tell, I would be able to hear my own snore when I was falling asleep. Because is not just the face that has inflammation, is the whole head, inside and out. I started to wake up with energy! I had months of struggling to wake up and feeling sleepy for 2-3 hours after sleeping, my guess is that now that I can breathe properly at night, I actually rest. I was introducing probiotics at first and at the beginning they would trigger a slight asthmatic response, like the lungs don't expand fully, but not bad enough to feel like I needed my inhaler. So I waited a few days and re started. Tons of itchiness at the beginning, specially in my scalp and face. I have dermatographism so I'm very prone to itching, but the first two weeks, it was very intense, I was scratching my face all day, not hard or hurting myself, but is almost impossible to not doing it when is so intense and you feel a burning sensation to do something. It probably was some kind of die off reaction. Its most gone, maybe 70% gone, still there, but milder and less frequent. Knees are not achy. I'm 33 and I would definitely struggle to bend/squat. Not anymore, that took like 3 days to disappear completely. Is just wild. I wonder if there is more improvement to be made, because this is amazing. Given the results, I'm stretching the phase 1/2 as much as I can do it, I do crave something crunchy... bacon! but I will persevere, I want more improvements.
@@bumblebeeapothecary is so cool, I have been following you since the beginning, you even called me when you where doing some kind of survey through IG about 2 years ago, I was in an RV camp in Alamosa, CO. Something told me GAPS is right but it also took me 2 years to do it!!! I was worried about the restrictions, worried it could be a fad, worried about not sticking to it. And here I am, feeling better in less than a month after months of feeling depleted, energy wise. I can tell you from my experience, that eating SAD, is indeed poison, I lived in Mexico my whole life and as soon as I moved to the US, my health started declining. Yes, I had some issues since Mx, like allergies, asthma, dermatographism, but here I developed brain fog and deep exhaustion. I would've been diagnosed with chronic fatigue if I would've gone to a doctor, for sure, and nobody would've known the origin of my brain fog, given that is such a vague symptom. One thing I can take pride (mostly in my mother tongue) is my extense vocabulary, and the past year or so, I would struggle so much to retrieve words from memory, i would use a "good enough" word, instead of the appropriate word. Easy/simple example, saying I'm very tired, instead of exhausted. That was brain fog. Is gone. I feel so grateful and grateful I found your videos! I think the first I watched was homemade deodorant or something like that. Long has been the journey to figure out how to have health, the natural way.
Greetings Marisa. Im new to all of this and have a question that I need clarity on. What's the best probiotics for gut health between yogurt/kefir and fermented veggies and why? 🤔 Any and all links sre greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Do you have any tips for cooking meat and fish from frozen when there is histamine intolerance for stage 1? Can frozen fish be put directly in soup or should it be defrosted first? If it can be put into soup frozen, should it be placed in cold water or simmering water? Thank you so much
Hi Marisa I was wondering if there is any info on adrenals fatigue in either of Dr Natasha books. I am struggling with this. I heard her on an interview saying a dozen egg yolks a day helps but can't find a recipe.
Yes! Dr. Natasha's blue GAPS book, "Gut and Physiology Syndrome" has information on this. I'm happy to guide you through this also if you're interested. bumblebee-apothecary.teachable.com/p/follow-gaps-academy
Thanks for the video, Marissa. Do you have the recipe of the bread? Could you make a video talking about how to buy fish eggs properly? As always, glad to learn from you from Spain 🇪🇸 😊
You're welcome! So we actually buy the sourdough bread from here www.ovenfreshdelivery.com/?ref=j8BEDd8EsfiDm ... and in regards to the video on how to buy fish eggs properly I will add that to my list of videos to make! :)
We buy a whole pork from a friend who raises them naturally and make our own, and whenever we run out of that, we sometimes get all natural sausages without additives. Costco has a pretty good option right now :)
Yes! It's this one: www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/food/dairy/butter/cultured/unsalted/graziers-vat-cultured-european-style-butter-unsalted-grass-fed/18710?package=DP230&a_aid=bH7Rv4Dgy2
As it shows in the video, we had sausage, sourdough toast with lots of butter, and sauerkraut brine for breakfast. The video doesn't show how much each of us ate, and they each ate far than more sushi rolls than just one. I always let my kids listen to their bodies on how much they want to eat, and follow their lead.

lucky family to have you as a mom!!!! You make this lifestyle look AMAZING. THANK YOU
You are so kind, thank you :)
Wow you read my mind! I've been thinking of doing GAPs sushi too. Can't wait to see the video!!
Yes, I'm excited to make it!
Thank you for making the sushi recipe at my request. I’m excited to watch the recipe video!
You're welcome! Enjoy! :)
Wondered if you have a specific container to keep butter on counter/ not refrigerator?
Hi! What brand sourdough bread do you buy?

The lemon zest, rind and seeds have way more vitamin c than the juice. I use them in a smoothie or chopped small in a salad.
Where can I get a recipe for sourdough pizza crust

Ooh how do you make the sprouted spelt sourdough?

Adrenal fatigue was one of my top reasons for starting GAPs. I am entering my 4th month and feeling SO much better. Just my personal experience. :)

Not trying to be mean but one peace of sausage for a kids’ breakfast? One little sushi roll for dinner? My kids would starve if that’s all they got.
Good thing we all have the freedom to choose what is best for our own family. 😊
With kids you start out small and let them come back for seconds.
