They will help contest scuttle, clear vision for ganks, react and help when I gank, roam with me to 3man, help with drakes etc. Idk if they're terrible to lane with since they don't understand how botlane and various matchups work, but they at least have mechanics and know how to play the map Now, those are all things that good support mains will do as well, but most are too busy drooling on their own keyboard.
