Crowdfunding a Book on Kickstarter | Some Thoughts

I reflect on crowdfunding my new book on Kickstarter before it launches on September 25, 2023. I talk about the book itself, how long it took me to write the book and put it together, some regrets I have now that I'm a week from launch, and some anxieties I'm feeling.

I only found your book on kickstarter today! So clicked on this link. Your book looks incredible!
I love the tan cloth cover with beautiful images from original manuscripts. It breaks my heart that so many truly worthy projects never see the light of day and sincerely hope yours will be funded and come into being.
How to get it out there and seen?????
I am not active on social media so i see the difficulty- it seems you HAVE to self promote and push your good work anywhere and everywhere and ASK for help- go back and connect with anyone at all who may share this and find your audience.
Is the newsletter with the Llama illustration in the book? I love it. And love that style of writing about your experience. I would love to see and recommend showing a sample of your writing in the book to give people a taste of your style. I think you have ser up the kickstarter very generously. Love the ebook and audio options too.
You deserve success with this endeavour! I love Peru, Andes and am drawn to so many aspects that have crossed my path- if i never get there at least i would love to get there through your own pilgrimage.

Thank you! It doesn’t look like the campaign will succeed, unfortunately. Which means the special hardcover edition won’t get produced at this point in time. But it was worth a shot. And I learned a lot. I’m working on the softcover black and white edition now, which should be available before the end of the year if the color hardcover version doesn’t get funded. So there is still hope yet. The llama illustration with the chakana will not be in the book. Can’t answer the last question here, but maybe I’ll talk/write about it elsewhere. If I do, I’ll circle back with a link. Thanks for your kind words. 🥰
